Guys is there much interest in the following pins??? They all had semi high to just plain high prices...I thought about going back to the place and offering guy a few grand or so for all of them...Will probably not include earth shaker and police force since they are really out of whack on pricing..

list,
Bad cats 1200
Stingray 800
Flash 800
Earth Shaker( too expensive will pass on this one for sure $1900 bucks
Arena 1200
Caveman 1000
Jungle Lord 950
Speak Easy 950
Police Force ( too much too at 1695)

...What do u think????

Wayyyy too high. Honestly I don't think I'd pay evenhalf of what they're asking for each one. There's a Jungle Lord for sale on CL here for $400 right now, and its been there for a few weeks.

Key two words....

Antique Store

Good luck with that offer. I'd imagine the games are owned by one of the many dealers that rents space within that business. Unless that person is hurting for cash, I doubt they'll sell them for any less. I think antique ppl are probably the best example of hoarders. EVERYTHING is worth thousands!!!!

I agree, antique shop owners and indoor flea market dealers are the absolute worst people to deal with.

I bought a '78 Gottlieb wedge head, Strange World, at an antique store 10yrs ago. I forget what he was asking, $250 or $300. I pulled out $175 in cash and said this is what I have, I'll buy it right now and that's it. He said ok, I loaded it up. "Cash money" talks. Not to sound like a cheap KLOV'r, but some of those prices sound about double what an average, unrestored, but decent game should sell for. However, Flash or Bad Cats could be well worth paying more than 1/2 his prices for, but maybe not what he's asking.

I think cutting each price in half would be the max I'd even consider.

That's a killer score right there, Strange World is way cool.

Going huge for maximum effect of the badassedness of the backglass

depending on condition, bad cats is a good deal. You need to look at earthshaker to see if its a proto. If it is, its worth way more than the asking price. Flash is pretty popular. I don't think the price is too bad for it.

Condition matters too. Unless those things are near mint cabinets and especially playfields, those prices are mostly way too high.

Those are all basically $500 games in good working condition, minus Earthshaker which would be closer to $1,000. Police Force is a pretty fun game, not sure I would want to own one though.

I just put all of these pins info into my magic computer data base and it comes back Lexington, Va..... Am I correct ?

Earthshaker is a fantastic game. If it has the sinking building, even better. I'd love to find one in the $1k range you all speak of. Around here they are $1200-$1400. Go look and see the condition. Bring a big wad of cash, price guide and negotiate.

Some good advice so far. Can't stress enough the condition of the playfield. As for the prices, they are all tooo high except with the exception of the Bad Cats. I would think that it could be picked up at 800-1000 if you had cash. And while you would need to research it on the pinball database, I think its a system 11 pin which basically makes it one step under a DMD pin series. All that means is they are usually very fun, high quality, interesting designs, good ramps....... Next best things to games like Adams Family, T2, Twilight zone and the like. You can also see what kind of score the game got on the pinball database. Makes it easy to figure out how good a pin is for the most part. Hope that helps.

Bad cats is a cool pin, they have one at crabtowne resturaunt where we do our KLOV gathering. I dont think I would pay 12 bills for it but a cool pin either way.

You guys have to realize there is a huge difference between "retail" and what for us is basically "wholesale".

For a retail location I don't think those prices are too high at all if the machines are in decent condition. For a KLOV'er who is invested in the hobby and has sources, will view pricing much different!

Most people that the antique or other retail locations are targeting are going to be typical consumers that just want a home machine and have no idea where else to buy one, or how to work on them or restore them. 90% of the people on here know where to buy machines at auction or have other sources and know how to do basic repairs if not completely restore a machine. VERY different markets. Just because those prices might seem high to "us" does not mean they are the least bit unreasonable for the market they are targeting....and a little secret, we aren't their target market!

I live on both sides, I buy machines and fully restore them as much as is possible/practical and then resell them on Craigslist.

I sell IGT Slots for $850 and do pretty good business moving them at that price too! I just sold a Revenge From Mars pin for $3150 this week. I sold a Lethal Enforcers (with restored audio circuit) for $800 a few months ago.

The fact I can market them as fully restored and offer a 6-month warranty makes a big difference compared to most of the stuff on CL that is as-is where-is and hasn't been maintained and probably doesn't even half work. I buy stuff off CL too and every time I've been told "works great" I get there and find it only half works, if even that much. Lights coming on=working to many people.

There is an arcade here that also treats themselves as a retail showroom. All the machines in the arcade have price tags on them if you want to buy them. They are often priced 50-100% more than what I even charge and they outsell me quite a bit in volume as well, because they are brick-and-morter. More power to them, I'm not dissing them in the least for it. Being brick-and-morter costs $$ and they have a huge investment there.

Understand when you see games being sold in retail locations, they aren't being marketed to US. They are marketed to the average consumers gameroom, NOT a KLOVer's game room!
