So my wife confuses the crap out of me at times. Long story short I am getting some new cabs soon. So I am in the process of selling off cabs that I don't want or need to make room and get some money to put towards my new purchases. Well needless to say every time I sell something she asks why I am getting rid of it, even though we had the discussion of me selling stuff to make room, not spend more money, and generally make her happy.

Stuff I sold so far was my CPS2 Dynamo and a DK project to a co-worker who bought both, and I am in the process of selling another Nintendo project cab, SPO back to its original owner, and I may possibly be selling a PO in the near future too depending if I get around to cleaning it up and restoring it.

Anyone else have their wives say things like this too them when they sell stuff, even though they don't want you to buy other things to begin with?

My old lady just hates clutter, so everything that leaves the house is a blessing. She likes the hobby and every now and then I have to sprinkle in something she wants (Centipede & CC) to avoid her wrath. She's now on my back to get a Baby Pac or DK since we went to visit Mr. Woot aka Blkdg.

My wife offers to sell/ give away my games every time someone new comes over or the subject comes up when we are out. She meets potential clients/customers daily and has offered several of my games up for sale to any and all takers. She set-up a meet and greet booth for her company at a golf outing recently and brought her Ms. Pac Cabaret along to set up on the course for golfers to play for promo prizes. To everyone that showed interest in the game, she described my game room and told them they were all for sale, here's my number. She just loves those games.

@Phet

Sounds like my wife.

Any time money gets tight around here (about once a month lately) she mentions selling a game or tow.

I have to explain that if I do that, I won't have the game - which was the point of buying it in the first place.

And I can't make the suggestion she sell any of her antique glassware or other valuables because she will - for her, it's about going out and finding more - not keeping what she has.

She's a closet Ferengi.

Maybe she actually liked some of the games you've been selling?
My wife never plays the games, I think I saw her go in an fire up the Family Guy Pin when we first got it but that's it. Most of the stuff I am selling besides the SPO and the CPS2 cab is all projects so they were not really playable to begin with.

I think it might have more to do with that she knows I like these things and wouldn't sell them if I didn't have too. I just think its funny, like right before I committed to the Candy cabs that I am getting she says if you want to buy another pin you need to stop spending money, haha. Every time I mention buying another pin she rolls her eyes and kind of gives me that "Sure, OK" look. It's just shit like that that confuses me, but gives me the hope that when push comes to shove Ill probably be able to get what I want.

Wouldnt have minded that CPS2 Dynamo, but oh well.

My wife doesnt mind me getting games really, or selling them. She actually wants me to keep a gameroom though. She thinks it would be cool for our 9 year old to be able to tell people we have a gameroom and to be able to play them.

Now she also knows I dont blow money on games if I dont have it. She knows I am a cheap and dont like to spend alot.

Yeah that and my DK project got sold my dumb luck to a co-worker. He saw pics of my games and I mentioned I would be selling some soon, and he just said he would take them.

Your first mistake was getting married. Your second mistake was trying to make sense out of the inherently irrational female species.

One night stands; all of the pros, none of the cons.

Punch your wife in the ovaries and send her crying back to whore island.

My wife likes one game and one game only - her Ms Pacman cocktail. She could give two shits less about any other game and she would love to see the day come when I'm done buying. She has no interest in the hobby which sucks - but then again I have no interest in shoes. It goes both ways fellas.

I think all my wife's hobbies are pretty cool. I'll help her out where I can, which is probably why she is more respective of my hobby.

Hey that's the mother of my children you're fake e-threatening.

That wasn't a threat - that was just some advice ;)

The odd thing is I can encourage my wife to go blow $800 on a pair of Italian shoes. I seriously couldn't care less. We make good money - what the hell do you work for anyway right?
But If I go to blow $800 on a game she doesn't understand.

She isn't the only one. Maybe it IS you.
