I am starting to do homework related to my broken Wells-Gardner U5000 monitor from a Cruis'n USA and appreciate help/information. I've read through many forum posts listing the following service kits. The posts were old and I can't find these for sale anywhere. Not sure if people typically write this monitor off or what.

# S05F0000-000F Service Kit, U5000/U2000 Vertical Sweep Update

# S01J0000-000F Service Kit, U-5000 Horizontal Output Transistor Update

# S04E0000-000F Service Kit, U5000/U2000 Power Supply Update

I reached out to Wells-Gardner who said as of three years ago they don't support CRTs. I didn't expect much from them since their website is sparce.

I found the user manual online and some information on the kits at this site:
http://antelopearcade.com/files/Ken's Korner/WG U2000 - U5000 Service Kits.pdf
I am very happy whoever owns this site, posted this and that they included extra pictures to explain. Without it I would be totally in the dark.

It looks like there are pages missing and I am trying to build the parts list from this document.

Does anyone else have documentation related to these upgrades?

we should have almost every part for those kits on our site but we aren't doing the kits anymore since its such a low demand for them.

I wouldn't do the updates. I have had more problems with chassis that were updated then ones that weren't.

If you need help with your U5000 let me know. The troubleshooting info in the Wells Gardner site isn't very good.

Yes that is correct they don't support the old CRT monitors anymore. Ever since John left (last CRT tech they had) we were left on our own.

Why do you suppose the upgraded chassis have more problems? Do you think it has to do with workmanship?

Thanks for the contact information. I will call or email tomorrow if I cant get a hold of you.

My monitor has a blown fuse, a bad H.O.T. at Q704 and what appears to be a bad transistor at Q101 (SSP6N60 FET N Channel)

I figured while I was removing the bad parts I'd go ahead and do the upgrade. I also read somewhere it is a good idea to replace the capacitors since one may be shorted from the failure.

that's correct and we should have not only the cap kits with the best quality caps but all the other parts in stock if you need anything.

I just ordered the last Wells Gardner factory HOT kit from arcadecup.com. I have two monitors that need work so I'll be trying to figure out what transistors if any are equivalent. There is also a pretty good forum post here in case anyone else is trying to figure this out too. it has a picture of what's in the kit and scans of the instructions.

I do like the notes in the link I posted above so these may compliment each other.
