I picked up a Elevator Action Dedicated Upright. The last owner started to part this game out for his MAME machine. So it was missing the buttons and joystick. But the game does power up and play with no sound. Have to check into the sound issue. Monitor is working, needs a cap kit. I do have the control panel minus the buttons and joystick. I got is for $80.

What kind of joysticks did these have? Should I find an original or just get a new micro switch version?

wow nice grab.

I am curious if the green cab is dedicated or not. I just bought one from kalan with the green cab, but I ahve seen them with brown cabs. The brown seems to suit themarquee/cpo better.

I would guess that it could be a jungle king/ hunt conversion. I have a jungle hunt in the green cab. I picked up a grey/black taito that has zoo keeper in it along with a qix to zoo keeper conversion manual.

nice pickup... mines the same..

mine had a worn wico leaf type, i put in one of those $9 bob roberts import jobs... works great... oh, red ball...

I thought this was dedicated EA:

but maybe I'm wrong

This is my first Taito cab. So I really don't know nothing about these cabs. All I know so far is the cab has hacked wiring, a switcher installed, and the sound isn't working. I guess
first I need to get my hands on a manual.

Congrats on the score! Glad you saved that one from its old owner... I mean WTF? You need to rape Elevator action for joystick and some damn buttons???

Anyway, I just picked up a Qix on Monday for $80. It too is my first Taito cabinet. It was completely dead and I have been getting it up and running... I have all the controls, but I think you got the better deal by far. My cabinet is going to need to go back down to wood and get some bondo and wood hardener and a new paint job.

I got mine playing blind already, now just need to get a chassis on the monitor. He threw in two K4600 chassis. Those are some ugly chassis!

Well, I was messing with the game, and the deal just got sweeter. Like I said before, the sound wasn't working, well I just found the volume control, and it was turned all the way down. I turned it up and powered up the game, but since I still have no controls, I took P1 wire and touched it to the ground and started the game, and wala, I have sound. Now I was watching the monitor and the picture has a red tint, and I think what everyone calls pinchusion effect happening, whats the fix for that? The marquee lite up and I even noticed that theres a lite in the monitor bezel. This is going to be a cool cabinet all cleaned up.

Yeah, the marquee lights are those little bayonet bulbs. I had never seen that before. Mine is missing the lights for the lit instruction sheet. Well, it is also missing the instruction sheet, but the plastic monitor bezel (shroud) has the opening for the light to come through. At first I didn't know what it even was, but the manual was pretty good at describing everything. I'm stoked to have a Taito cabinet. I loved Qix as a kid and after seeing Phet's Elevator action restore it made me want one even more.

Tonight I got this game from project to playable status. I had to find a replacement leaf switch for the original joystick I bought for the game. Played the game tonight, all the buttons, and joystick are working. I got a cap kit for the monitor, which I will do later.
