I could of hit the auction this weekend, but no, I held out because I located a grail of mine. And Luckly Anthony at Quarterarcade wasn't in a hurry to sell this gem. Which gave me time to get the cash together and make the buy.

Solid cab, all complete, and working. Needs a good cleaning. Paid $250 for it.

It was nice getting to talk to Anthony and getting to see his awesome arcade. It was cool seeing he has a row of the Stern/Seeburg cabs. He had a realy nice and working Omega race mini. Thanks, Anthony for the tour.

Nice! Demolition derby. Too bad it's not the cocktail. But hey, better than not having any version at all.

Theres an upright version?? I call first dibs when you run out of room again and put it up for sale :)

I didn't know about the upright either until I did some searching on the internet and stumbled across photos of one. Then fast forward some time later I found a post from Anthony selling some games and one of them was this game. You would think its a Atari cab for how heavy it is. And this will be one of my keeper games. I loved this game back in the 80's. Of course I always played the 4 player version.

On my way over right now!! J/k lol I'll be by this weekend if your home. I'm sure playing this will make me regret picking up that other one

Nice !!

Congratulations on that Derby. Not a very common game... and I have been looking.

Not to thread steal ...but I have two (two-player style D-Derby) and will be selling one when I get home from Afghanistan near Christmas.

demo derby 2 player does not have the mcr 3 pcb like the 4 player cocktail. It runs on MCR mono. Still, nice pickup.

I would think you could drop in sarge and rampage with a little mod work..

Anthony was telling me the boardset is the same as Disc of Tron. Its has multiple boards in stack. And I think he said its MCR 3.

That would be news to me. the cocktail sarge and a cocktail demo derby run mcr3.

Upright sarge and am pretty sure upright demo derby are mcr mono (single board). Its been many years, since I owned a sarge UR, but I think the board mounts on the back door..

I don't want to say Anthony is wrong as its was his game, but I am pretty sure he is. If it does have mcr3 in there, then it was probably some oddball/using up parts.

take off the back door and take a pic. If it does have mcr 3, it was a steal of a deal..

I went and looked at the game, its got a multiple board stack, cheap squeek, and amp pcb in there. It doesn't look like the game was ever taken apart. Maybe this is a early cab before the mono pcb was released.

very cool.. Next time you get a chance take a pic and see if you can find a serial number..

Nice score tim, dam man, you go through machines like i do underware...lol///j/k

I had issues with my game hauler today, and I wont have it for a while to move any games.
So I have to live with my current collection, which I like right now. I want to start restoring games instead of buying more games.

Yes I do go through a lot of games, but by my buying and trading games I worked my way to a collection I like. And if I continue to buy and trade, I will be messing with games I like and wanted to have. I haven't traded or sold one of my grails yet.

I have seen Demolition Derby uprights use the MCR stack. Seems the uprights could be wired for the monoboard, or the MCR. All of the cocktail machines use the MCR boardset though. As mentioned, Sarge is another game that use monoboard in the upright version, and a MCR in the cocktail.
