I have a bunch of g07 flybacks (not that uncommon I'm sure), but I wanted to show the difference.

2 are NOS from awhile back.

The next 3 or 4 are ALL from arcadepartsandrepair.com. One from 2020, 2022, and 2024. They all vary in color, color of wires, stickers that do or do not say arcadepartsandrepair.com

Kind of a waste of everyone's time, but I wanted to show them.

THe 2 NOS I am saving for a real rainy day. :)

The STC 0593 has an old Grey anode cup. The black "arm" on this one is square/rectangular.
The next NOS has a nice black cup. The black "arm" on this one is round.
both of these flyback do NOT have the mounting part to screw into the side of the frame.

The next few are all basically 2 years apart from arcadepartsandrepair.com.

No big deal, I just always seem to save one from each era as I buy a few from him. They are different colors (slightly), different color wires (in some cases), and
used to have his business name on the label (not so with the most recent ones).

Thank you for your education. I believe I bought this one from Bob Roberts like 15 years ago but never got to use it yet. So which one do I have here?

I don't have one of those in my collection. Those predated arcadepartsandrepair getting into the flyback business. (I"m pretty sure)

THe anode cups on those tended to lose pliability, and get firm enough to almost break if you flexed it.

Had a new one come through. It was arcing to the frame (lightning bolts), I expoxied it , super glued it, several layers.

Didnt change anything, lol. Super lightning, so it's going in the trash, but I thought I'd post a couple of pictures.

a staple of the Bob Roberts era. I never bought a G07 flyback from him but I remember word years ago that the failure rate was like 50%

APAR isn't infallible but if you didn't leave the flyback sit on the shelf for 2 years before learning it was a dud, he'll at least send you a new one

i never had a problem with bob's stuff back in the day, even a replaced flyback from him on my old missile command upright that I swapped out and failed many years later it was hard to attribute to the actual flyback... I've asked in other threads i think but is there any indicator of potentially bad flybacks from back then besides when they fail?

was going through G07 chassis' and found these from many years ago, is the consensus that:
1) using these at all would be foolish
2) use them until they expectedly fail
3) use them with nothing to worry about

edit: picture didn't work, will update

Did you intend to show pictures? Do you have g07 flybacks from BR?

yes, i found 6 boxes with what i think is 4 new and 2 that i probably swapped out and put the old one back in the box (before i knew to not swap flybacks unless verified bad so they could work, yes i'm a hoarder)

ok.............I mean............flybacks cost $45 now plus shipping. I'd use them if I were you. I wouldn't buy them if you listed them for sale...........
Worst case scenario I suppose is you blow a fuse, and the flyback blows in half (like a bunch did for me bitd).

great answer, thanks... could maybe blow a HOT?

also when that missile command flyback failed it stank up the house for a couple days for sure
