My un-expected grail find this weekend . . . Missile Command!

Hey Guys,

I went to dj dns arcade party, which was awesome, and I saw a cabinet I've been wanting to get and I was able to get it . . . Missile Command!

My Missile Command Pictures!

I've got a good amount of work to do, but overall its in really fantastic shape and the side artwork on both sides is amazing! I need to do some serious work on the control panel.

Where can I get parts to rebuild the trak-ball and get a new overlay for the control planel?

Thanks again to dj dns!

arcadeshop.com has the overlay

I also Have a empty panel with a overlay already applied for $80 shipped.

I have the plexi bezels you need too. However I would recommend you just buy those new at www.thisoldgame.com, get the Glass/Plexi combo

Wow thank you for the quick response! I think I'm going to focus on getting the trak-ball back to working condition before tackling the control panel overlay . . . whats the point in it looking good if it does work! Thanks for the links! Which is better to order from? Bob Roberts or arcade shop? I've never ordered from either!

both are safe bets. I think the ones from bob are stainless and the ones from arcadeshop are not. You can pay by creditcard at arcadeshop. gotta mail a check for Bob. So pick your poison. It will roll like butter with new Shafts and bearings

Me loves some MC. Happy another is getting saved. :)

You good sir got lucky on that MC. I saw it when I got there (before you) hesitated to ask about it until later on in the day, and by that time you had gotten it :) Oh well, some day I'll end up with one. Plus you got that rocking Smash TV 25" that I'd die for too.

Yeah when I saw it I knew I had to jump on it! I've missed 3 other missile commands because I did jump on them immediately.

Also this one was in the exact kind of condition I wanted. Minus the Smash TV, I've had do some work on all my machines which I like because I feel like I really learn more about the machines that way.

Jlannoo and XXI21 thank you for all the information! I'll be tearing down the MC some to figure out everything I need to order!

Wow ... should have seen that coming! What's the story behind Roy anyway? I just know small bits and pieces ...
To get the full story and controversies on roy, you would have to read the equivalent amount of material as War and Peace and the Dune trilogy put together...

He's still an arcade celeb of sorts, mostly because of his fallout with Walter Day and MC dipswitch #4 (slow trak-ball vs. fast) and score submissions.

He doesn't play much now because of arthritis from lifting weights when he was younger. He's well into his 50s now so... He can't stand at a game very long at all... always has a stool for exhibition stuff.

My fav roy vid...

Yeah it's got a 4.5" trak-ball. I don't know if the buttons work honestly. Waiting on the PCB at the moment.

Can't wait to get this machine up and running!!!
