Thanks to DPTwiz, i now have a Tron recognizer EL wire sign. I bought a driver, and made a sequencer using a 555 timer and a 4017 counter and 3 relays (and several transistors).
Anyway, the vid makes the lines look crooked. They aren't, its just my cheapo cam. Here's the vid -
I've got a relay that sticks occasionally, at some point i'll get around to replacing it.

thanks guys, it was a fun project.
Details? Well, lets see - i got the wire and driver from here -
www.glowire.com I used the 9v battery powered version that runs 5-30 ft of wire. 25 ft blue, and 45 ft red. That totaled out at about a hundred bucks. I spent another 20 or so on relays and perf board, and other misc. stuff, plus 75 or so for the sign (with shipping), and a 9vdc wall wart i had laying around. I'd guess right around 200 total, and probably 15 or 20 hours of design, testing, and building and installing.
As far as details, if anyone wants them i have a very basic schematic i drew up, that you might be able to make sense of. Send me a pm with your email addy and i'll send you what i have. The rest was just drilling through the back of the sign, and connecting the pieces of EL wire up.

AG - that's 2 PP's. I swapped them around so PP1 is in one cab, and PP2 is in the other now, instead of both in 1 cab.

Lee- sorry, i really wanted one of those too, but just couldn't afford one at the time. I hate it when anyone gets burned like that.
Neon would've been cooler, but in an arcade setting, its plenty bright.

WANT! ...But alas, I'm far too lazy to wire it up myself. Sell 'em plug-and-play and I'd likely bite! ;-)
