My Trimline Conversion Project

someone seriously needs to replicate this cab design in a wood kit.

Get in line- I think Fritz has them... and he said they are pretty sticky.

Found my copy. I believe this was revision 1 though, so some of the rules may have changed.

Finally some progress on this fine project. I had finished up the final bondo coats and sanding about 2-3 weeks ago. I also peeled all of the old vinyl off of the kickplate, roof and back panels. I then lightly sanded and clear coated those areas, then did the same to the bottom of the cabinet and the bondoed areas. I then gave the whole cab a light sanding, wiped it down and gave it an even clearcoating. I let that sit for a few days, then installed my new leg leveler plates that Mickster sent me. I then threaded in some small casters, flipped the cab up off it's back and was ready to get busy, when out of no where came my new pinball machine pick-up, the holiday season, my birthday and my holiday party. Delays, delays, delays. Last night, after the kids went to bed, I finally got a chance to start vinyling the entire cab. I used happ pica vinyl on the roof, kickplate, inner cab sides, back panel and back door. I went with a sweet Ghosts N Goblins purple on the cab sides. I was also able to test fit my new bezel. Here are some pics of the cab as it stands, with the finished back door next to it:

Today I got my bright green T-molding in the mail and was able to install the marquee apparatus. Tonight I will install the marquee, light bar and most of the internals. Next will be the coin door and T-molding. I still don't have a good CPO file, so if anyone has a NOS or repro CPO for an upright they could scan in at 800dpi for me to resize, that would be sweet. I decided that I am just gonna order the standard side art and make it work with this cab rather than trying to redo it to exactly fit the profile. Few more pics:

Man, that's coming out slick.

Hellz yeah. That old woodgrain laminate was the perfect surface to vinyl over. And the dark purple of the vinyl really helps to completely block out it's memory. Can't wait to get the marquee in and lit up, then this bitch is going to shine.

Normally this is the point where I would attempt to sit on your game with my bare ass, but this is one I would be honored to let sit on MY face.

I like. I like.

Also, that's gotta be one helleva hoop you own for that purple basketball.
