Everyone knows by now I traded my Burgertime for Phet's Sinistar a couple of weeks ago. I got Sini home today and we got it down into my arcade. This was one of my grails that I have waited 27 years to get. Back in the winter of '82/'83; there was a rollerskating rink in Winona, MN that had maybe a dozen games lined up against one wall. My favorite 3 were Asteroids Deluxe, Space Duel, and Sinistar; in that order from left to right. I finally completed my long journey to bring all of these games together again, this time in my home arcade. I was starting to wonder if I would ever aquire a Sinistar. This one from Phet is the first one I have seen or played since early 1983; so its been a long time coming. Thanks again Phet! Also thanks Chris(25810) for letting me store the game in your garage for a couple of weeks!

Congrats on finally being able to put that row together. Only question is, for the sake of nostalgia, have you been playing them next to each other with rollerskates on? :)

That is just super sweet.

I see your AD has the rock-art and stuff installed now?

The 1983 roller-rink feel is not complete without a DOMer standing next to you popping her gum and saying "rad" every 17.5 seconds.

Yeah Russ, the AD backdrop is installed now after an 8 year delay. And I was never so lucky to have some chic standing next to me while I played ANY game back in 1983....

Yeah that's some bad screen burn, isn't it?

Hahahaha that tube looks pretty sucktastic when the game is off. You'll be happy to know that the chassis has been rebuilt, new fly, etc. If I can get that sweet burgertime tube off of that 4900 in time, I'll bring it to you when I visit Russ!

Right on man; Chris told me about the rebuilt chassis, etc. I got a better monitor out of the whole deal anyway. The screen burn is not any worse than any of my other games; no big deal to me Phet...

Congrats on the Sinistar! Also, nice line-up you have there. I have an AD, Space Duel, but my only Williams title is Joust. Is that a Gravitar cabinet that the Space Duel is in?

Yep, it is a Gravitar cab. Wish I had the original Space Duel cab, but overall I can't complain; the Grav cab is in good shape...

All the Atari vectors have some nice artwork though. So many Space Duels have been parted and restored from parts that you are bound to find a cabinet if you want one. Good luck!

Nice welcome to the Sinistar Owner's Club!! We love ours!!

Congrats on a nice "memory" row! I've come to the conclulsion that arcade cabs are actually time machines...;). The more photos I see of your gameroom, the more I like it -very, very nice, the colors are great. You should make a sign to post next to these cabs:

You must be this tall ___________
(with skates on) to play this game

:D

That's what it's all about right there!!! I've got a similar quest - BITD I used to visit a mom-n-pop ice cream shop in town that had a loft with three games - Ms. Pac, Vanguard, and Wizard of Wor. I've got the WoW and a project Ms Pac already, and a Vanguard board. Just need the Vanguard cab now!

By the way that screen burn just gives it a route-worthy look without being too ghetto. :D
