I love Space Invaders. I love its history, its game play, everything about it. A couple of months I was fortunate enough to pick the original Taito SI upright sold in Japan and the UK. Yesterday I bought this little guy. It needs some love, but it's solid.

Sweet! Trimline. Haven't heard that term in a long time.
You need to shove something in that big gaping hole.
Like a spanky new coin door.

Turn the volume up high!
Nothing like that invader crawl.

Yeah! Those mini's are the bomb! :) I haven't seen any of the little bugg-ards out here though..

Awesome! Aren't these things great? I'd love an SI Trimline, but I'm reallllllly out of space even for another mini right now. If I ever own an SI again, it'll be like yours.

It's good you got a solid cabinet; that's rare. I think these little guys were abused quite a bit due to their size and design. Here are mine:

I bought it from a friend. It was in storage and it looked like both portions of the coin door were gone. I got it home opened it up and found not only the door for the bottom compartment, but manual, schematics, and playing guide! I even found a bag with some fuses, .50, and shiny new leg levelers.

The game plays well except instead of the duh, duh duh, there is a constant high pitch saucer squeal.

I know parts for these little guys are scarce so I am not going to really worry about the cosmetics. I may go back and look around the building for the coin door, but I am not getting my hopes up.

That Crazy Climber is SEXY!

I just started collecting, but I fell in love with Taito's design. I love their artwork and the cabinet lines. Not to mention the uber organization of their internal layout. When I opened up my Taito SI upright I almost fell over with how organized it was. Everything was neat and labeled.

Next up is an SI table!

It's missing a chunk here or there, but it could definitely be cherry with a resto.

Same with my CC. Letters on every part of the wiring harness which correspond to what the connectors plug into. Clean design, easy access. These things are neat.

Make sure to buy a working one. I had one that didn't work, and it just collected dust. They can be a pain to troubleshoot, plus a working one shouldn't set you back much.

While I was up in Flagstaff for a weekend I remember seeing a Trimline mini. I was only passing by, the store was closed. It had white t-molding.. anyone have a clue what it could of been?

Wow, that looks exactly like the one Jumble Games was selling.

Jumble has quite a few hard to find games, but even their "un-restored" games are too rich for my blood.

Nice find.

They need to get a better idea about the market. They're all over the place.

A shopped Arch Rivals is $750? Okay...but a shopped Monaco GP is $2500??

well, considering Monaco GP was discrete logic. Um, yeah. Have you ever seen the inside of one of these things!?! If its been fully shopped, its worth the money, those fuckers are an ungodly nightmare.

There was a place in Pennsylvania that had one in better shape that was $250, but it was a ten hour drive.

I am pretty happy with this one. I just need to fix the audio issue and order up some T molding. I just found out (thanks nerdtendo) that they make repro CPO's, but I am leery to go that route. I am a little OCD when it comes to my Space Invaders

I agree.

Also, I have a Monaco GP that works perfectly. It just needs sideart. If anybody wants to give me $2500 for it, shoot me a PM. LOL :D

I don't usually do the "Oh, I'd love to have one of those!" type posts, but ...

Oh, I'd love to have one of those! That and Crazy Climber trimline are the only 2 games I would add into my gameroom.

Nicely done, Nerdy. BTW, has it been established that in fact you are female? 'Cuz you don't exactly fit the standard demographic around here. :) Welcome, none the less.

Yes, I am of the female variety. I have been playing games since I was a wee little lass in my parent's bar. I can still remember the first time I played Space Invaders, I was five and had to stand on a stool to reach the buttons. I was hooked.

I built a small arcade for my office to entertain out of town clients, but this was the first game I put in my home.
