Just picked this up today with a lot of other games. It had been in a pizza joint that had a fire. There was no heat near the pin but a lot of smoke damge. Last year I picked up a Nascar pin that was the same deal and it turned out great. My hope is this will turn out just as well. Now its off to put the boards in the dishwasher :)

nice. how much of a discount does one get with a smoky game?

Doesn't look any worse than the one I played on location today.

lol. probably not too terribly far from the truth.

I use to use the dishwasher on boards until I tried scrubbing bubbles and a paint brush.

Nice find on the POTC. I bet it cleans up nice.

??? - I am in Salem, OR too.
What pizza joint was it?

The only problem you might have is getting rid of the smoke smell. It should clean up well and with enough scrubbing you should be able to get rid of most of the smell. I'm curious to see how well this cleans up. GuidoTorpedo on here had a ToM that had spent time in a fire. His was far worse than yours and he might be able to give you some pointers on a few tricks he used.

Nice score, I bet that will clean up just fine, new hardware and a bunch of elbow grease. One of the better Stern pins for sure.

Thanks guys. I have spent the last 3 days working on this almost non stop. I pulled the playfield, striped it down and just got it all back together. The head is still off the cab for the final cleaning. I should have this all back together and playing tonight ( I hope). I am going to post a update with pics on Monday. Looks like it is going to be really nice.

I picked up a Roadshow from a pizza joint fire. I wonder what's up with the all these pizza joints

How did you find it ? ans how much did you pay? I would love to find a project like that!!

Get to know your local Ops. Both this one and my Nascar ( smoke damaged also) came from the same op. After the first deal with the nascar he called me a year later and said there was another fire and I can buy the stuff as soon as his insurace figures out the value. It works the same as if you total a car, you can buy back the item at salvage value.

The only down side was I had to take all the items. There was a bunch of dumb redemption stuff but I did walk away with a Artic thunder :)
