Just got back from Lowes with supplies :) I love joust, its one of my all time favorites, but I love sf2 so uhh heres my plan at the moment. Im going to do all Joust art and come up with some sort of Joust inspired capcom button layout. I dont have the room for more than 2-3 games, 3 is pushing it especially with my fiance, so I think Im going to mame this one. Sometime in the future I want to get a larger cab to use as my mame machine and at that point Ill swap my pc out for a joust pcb and replace the cp with the correct Joust controls and have a dedicated Joust. I feel like not restoring this Joust would be a shame! Once I saw the manufacturers 1982 date stamp on the inside of the cabinet I started thinking about the history of this thing. Once I sanded it and saw the joust stencil on the side I knew what I had to do! So excited!

For an old classic game like that, it would be a wise decision. This is one reason why I went after a Dynamo cab. Not just because that is what SFII kits were mostly installed in, or that is what dynamo cabs were for (conversions). But I couldn't bring myself to convert a dedicated cab to something else.

If you need any recommendations for your restoration. I suggest OldTymeToy's awesome restore thread.

Be prepared for a lot of work, most of these older games require much much more than SFII.

Yea I think so too. When I first got my game I didnt really do much investigation I just wanted it to function. Then I thought it would be nice to replace the junky art and spruce it up a bit. Im so glad I didnt get that SF2 bezel or cpo now though!
