Welcome to the KC club. It's a sleeper game that has a small but dedicated following here.

Looks like you have the original joysticks too, which is extra nice, as they were often swapped out for other ones. But nothing feels the same as the original ones, if that's how you played it as a kid.

$4000.... no less.

$4000 no more, no less was valid in 2017.
Perhaps due to tariffs or NAFTA negotiations etc, somehow for 2018, the new number has reduced to $40. (At least for Vectors). :001_sbiggrin:

So, yes, $50 for KC is an excellent deal too, as it is not a crappy vector game.

you should of told him its was worth 800$ on eBay and you would happily give him 800$ because your such a nice person.

that's what people are doing now apparently.

sweet grab. I just bought a KC for the second time. Sold my first one a year or so ago and missed it like crazy. Came across another and even though its in rough shape I didn't hesitate. Like Andrew said its a sleeper. and+1 for the joysticks.

Thanks
Blake

I was happy to pick this up, for sure...You can see there's a little rusting on the curve right below the joysticks, but the cab and graphics are in excellent condition.

Look, mofugger, we ALL live in the past. The fact that mine bounces around like a bouncy-ball combined with a check signed by Dixie Carter doesn't change the importance there of.

:p

Good thing I don't understand any of this (other than the mofugger part). LOL :p:p

I do agree, as someone else said, that KC is probably now considered a "golden era" classic. Even though it's a chop chop karate chop fighter.

Fine.... I'll type it slower for you, next time. :p

As for the game..... I enjoyed it well enough on my Commodore 64.... but it wasn't a game I'd want to pump quarters into. But hey, the OP is happy with it, so I'm happy for him. :)

Nice score! Karate Champ was the first dedicated arcade game that I owned and I was sorry to see it go. I, on the other hand, was one of the kids that pumped a ton of quarters in it BITD.

FULL POINT!

Keep the KC trivia coming ... :)

A little known fact about Karate Champ is that while the game was published by Data East, the game was actually created by Technos Japan Corp. Gee, not only did they created the side-scrolling beat-em-up genre, they also created the one-on-one fighting genre as well.

The 2-player version is seen in the movie Bloodsport. Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) challenges and defeats Ray Jackson (Donald Gibb) in the hotel lobby when checking in.

... aren't you alittle old for video games? ...

One of the best action movies of my childhood. I became interested in the game because it was in the movie.

- Karate Champ has 27 possible move combinations. and all of them can defeat your opponent with a single hit. Take that you combo lovers.

thanks
Blake
