My Rampage restore

the best thing you could do is scan the overlay or have it scanned by someone professionally so that it can get reproduced eventually. didn't know there was a NOS overlay out there, so this is our chance. please don't put it on without getting a high-quality scan of it!!!

I do have a scanner but its old as dirt and I'm not about to send this thing to anyone through the mail. I'm lucky it got to me in one piece the first time around.

I'll mail you my flatbed scanner. It's a bit old as well but it would work just fine.. I thought about scanning my rampage CPO but it's missing just a corner and maybe some artist can fix it. It's pretty clean and solid all for that little corner.

Seriously though, how much does a scanner cost? I'd be happy to donate a few bucks or even send you my scanner to scan this. Just let me know.

I can understand that.

Maybe the group will cough up a little $$ for your trouble to take it to someplace local for a scan?

I already PM'd him about it.. he should have no problems going to a Kinko's with it. $14-21 bucks. I'm willing to send him the money for part or all of that... I'm sure other guys here are too.

That's the key, getting a real nice hi-res scan of it...

I wish he lived closer to me.. my buddy who runs a Kinko's would do it for free.

Well not to hi-res Went here: http://www.rotheblog.com/2008/04/tutorials-arcade/scanning-arcade-game-sideart/#howScan 300 DPI is the bare min and anywhere from 300 to 660 would make a decent scan. I think I need to buy a few RAM sticks LOL.

Luckily you're not scanning side art... that seems like a huge chore. Don't worry about buying extra scanners & memory man, just hit up Kinkos and have 'em scan it close to 660. 300 dpi is definitely the bare minimum (probably not gonna be good enough)... see what is the highest res Kinko's can do. Like I said, they have a large format scanner than can easily scan that CPO as long as it's flat and not attached to anything.

no idea what kinko is (we don't have that here in germany), but that place seems to be "our way out" - so go for it!

They're actually called FedEx Office now, I think. Or FedEx Kinko's... either way, it's a place where you can make copies/scans, have stuff professionally scanned, have signs made up, etc.

And yes, it's the best bet for preserving that Rampage CPO (so that other Rampage owners can be saved!) right now, at least from a time/cost standpoint.

Well I'm going to drop a Gig of RAM in anyways the ram I need for my computer is under $30 for 2 sticks and If I get a later model processor that cost me like $300 for the cheap one back in the day, I only need to add like $20 more to the upgrade price so my computer can handle this when the art needs to be vectorized. So for $50 I can get some more life out of my computer and get some stuff done hell maybe I can Even Play C&C now at a little better REZ LOL.

Can you scan closer to 660 though?
