Saw a Champion Pub on Craigslist last night for $400. Picked it up this morning. Cabinet looks great except for the front (vandals had pried the coin door open), the playfield has no wear at all that I could see. Boots up but has a stuck slam tilt switch error. Coined up but game wouldn't start due to the switch. Of course it needs cleaned and shopped, but it will clean up well.

He said others had called this morning with offers to pay more if he'd hold it while they drove in from Virginia. (Big surprise...)

So that's my score for 2010!!

Haha, yeah... I'll get pics late tonight. Thanks... yeah, I'm surprised, it's been YEARS since I've had a great score like this. I'm glad I've been holding out on a pin, this worked out perfectly.

This is what you needed the coin door for? Wow, congrats. That is a hell of a pickup. Price just went up to $40. ;) Just kidding.

Wow, nice grab! When I first read your post, I thought you accidentally left a zero off the price. :)

Ha, yup, that's what I need the coin door for!

Rarehero, fortunately, none of the local pinball or arcade club guys tried to jump me on this. I even posted it to our local forum last night. It was out of state folks who were trying to make better offers. I had concerns that someone (I don't know) would beat me there or get there at the same time and start a bidding war, so I just did my best to set up something firm and get there as quickly as possible with cash in hand!

Thanks!

You know, I've been saying the exact same thing for years... Glad to be the guy with the good luck this time!

Showed this to my fiancee and she said, "Sweet! Tell him we'll give him $500 for it!" Don't worry, she was kidding.

That's an awesome score, Wade. I bet it cleans up perfectly. I got a Swords of Fury that had been broken into and I think it's the best thing that could have happened to it- it was taken off route early and had almost no wear.

Well the damage to the front is pretty severe, so the coin door is just part of it. Really this is by far the biggest problem. No playfield wear and the cabinet is pretty nice otherwise. A little touchup and it would be an 8 or 9.

I fixed the slam switch issue and played a few games. Most the stuff seems to work. A couple of switches aren't registering, and a gob of lights are out. Otherwise all the mechanisms and stuff seem to work. The DMD is weak though. Don't know if a rebuild will work or if I'll need a replacement DMD.

More pics!
