My Pimped Out Outrun

Get the side art. Make it look original, but if you decide just to paint I agree the powder blue would look better.

These bring around 400.00 as is so dropping 200.00 on art for it would not pay. But Powder blue is it. Now I have a few that is worth putting side art on.

Why are there people who can't leave any post by RLEVIN alone? So he's a retail shop and asks high prices - who cares? If his prices are truly too high he won't sell anything. No skin off your back. I'm sure most of it is envy, who of us on here wouldn't want a huge warehouse full of games? That'd be much cooler than my job. Good for him for being able to make a business out of videogames, I wish I had the knowledge and resources to do that.

The only reason I (an outsider) jumped on this thread is:
Because this tread is to an arcade lover like a red flag to a Bull.

A messed up Outrun at the price of a MINT one.

Now If you are trying to sell a machine in THAT condition for THAT kind of $ and post on a forum with Arcade lovers........ the rest is history.
C'mon I know I ain't smart but I'm not that stupid and neither are other folks on KLOV I think/hope.

You know this will sale for about 500.00 like it or not. We do best offer listings and you ask a lot higher of a price so you can get a good offer and if you wait you will. One would think a collector would love seeing games go for high money it just makes your games worth more. If you guys want to give your games away for free that is you so do not expect me to and if you really want to give them away cheap call me. I will travel and pickup for FREE. You would think all that is going on in the world a funny looking Outrun would not get as much attention.

Whats the most you've sold an outrun for with no sideart?

(not busting balls, just curious)

700.00 is the most I have gotten for one without side art. Side Art is 200.00 and once you pay a guy to prep the cab and apply the side art you have about 250.00 into it. If I am going to go that far in restoring a game I will do monitor and all and charge 1500.00 for it. I am better to get 500.00 to 700.00 for it and it move a lot faster than it would at 1500.00. It is a fun playing game but not one that demands that kind of money

Alright, be it off character for me to defend someone who is selling "overpriced" machines, but if Relivin can get that kind of a price, then more power to him! Seriously! When you own a business, thats what you are dong....business. You are in it to make $$$. I can't fault that. Overpriced? Well to some yes....(that one to me is), but to someone else who wants that game, and doesn't care about price, no. Those people are out there.

I picked up one yesterday in Medina, Ohio for $50 with no boards, and in decent shape...nice side art. I had the spare boardset, so I figured why not.

I say cut the man some slack. It's business....like it or not, and it's his. Now when you end up with a warehouse full of goodies, you can decide the prices on what you have.

Now Relivin, that is NOT pimped! Don't even go there! Now, dump the yellow t-molding, and go with some of the chrome stuff t-molding.com has, and slap some spinner hubcaps on each side....now were pimpin'! Shag carpet on the footboard too by the pedals too.

$500 isn't bad ( I paid $550 for my dedicated Joust in nice condition fully working) I'd just rather have seen it with original art for $350-$400 and you wouldn't have had to spent money on labor and material to paint it. As a collector and lover of these games I want them to look original and play correctly with dependable electronics on the insides (so I can play them longer). As to what my games are worth I could give a rat's ass! I don't haul 300lb box around because they will make me money I do it because I want to relive the games and the visual memory of my days as a kid.

Yep people don't get it if you want a thread to go away all you have to do is just let it be and don't bump it. The thing is those type people want to be the ones who tell everyone else when to stop talking about something they can't help bumping a thread like this because their deepest desire is to be the last post saying "that's it, thread closed, cause I said so"...

This thread was dead for 6 hours until you bumped it again. :)

You are right I thought I knew what pimped was till I posted this and I now have tons of ideals. I will have to start over on it when I get back from vacation.

Very nice!

RLEVIN: It is funny who would of ever thought a Outrun would get 8 pages

Really? On KLOV a $900 outrun with no sideart being hearalded as 'pimped out' will turn a lot of heads and garner many comments.

I was using the pimped out phase as in being a little funny looking not being restored. I just thought it looked like the cars you see around our warehouse that go bumping down the road. You guys know the cars I am talking about. Pimped out does not mean nice and in collector condition by any means.

I assumed this is exactly what you meant so I didn't comment. The problem here is 'pimped out' means something totally different in Redneck America as opposed to on the coasts. The coasts use the term 'riced' instead of pimped out. There are a few other terms with different meanings depending on where you are in the country such as coke, pop, and fag.
