So...I've posted here about 10 times regarding my Food Fight find that I was SO super happy about. Long story short, I've had everything go down the pooper in less time than it took me to post about it.
Here is where I'm at right now...
I kept getting the NVRAM High Scores and Stats failure...so I figured the NVRAM on my board was bad. Since the company I bought it from warrants it for 90 days they have been more than helpful in getting me back up to speed ...except I'm still not there. So I figured I'd ask a few questions on the forum.
First, I sent them my board and EMI board. They said they tested it in their Food Fight machine with no problems. They kept testing it for 2 weeks and said...It has to be your power supply. They told me about a set screw that ups the voltage to the NVRAM just a bit and said I might have to tweek it.
They sent the board back...so I put it back in and toyed with the Voltage setting. Sure enough, nothing happened. Then I noticed that one of the little capacitors on the power supply was blown (photo1.jpg). It was the one labeled R4 which certainly had to be the memory line (I figured).
So, the shop said...those things are a dime a dozen, send it back and we'll send you ours that we know works. So I did.
Today I got theirs and just installed it. Not only did it not fix my NVRAM issue...but now my sound is horrible. I'm guessing it's because the audio regulator on their power supply board is crap?
Anyone have any idea what I should do? I've already emailed them and said that it didn't fix the problem...but how could my board have worked flawlessly in their machine with the same parts? I checked all of my wires and things...everything looks nice and clean. I'm at a total loss here. I just want to play the damn game!
Thanks in advance...this forum is great!
