My (overpriced) Timber on ebay

Thats a bloody nice example of a Timber. Uncommon, and hard to find especially in that condition. I say the price is justified. You did state one can make an offer.

Considering that I thought I came across every 80's upright ever made until I ran across Timber in MAME only, I'd agree this price is on-par.

Should have left it a Budweiser Tapper. This is a conversion from bud to timber look at the side art close.

Actually root beer to timber. 100% of them were conversions. (And, Timber is a way better game imo).

you could plate that entire game with 24k gold and i wouldn't pay that much for one ($4650)

hell, minds well throw up all my arcade games on eBay and add $1000-2000 to each one

elevator action. $800? nah - hell nah, eBay it for $3,000

do i sell my mappy for $500? nah, $2500 min bid

blue print? rare $4,000

that's basically the mentality of what you are doing here...

hmmm maybe i should list my crazy climber for $3500

if it sells, i'll have some loot

$1500 KLOV price? :001_scool::eek::cool::D;)
(16 Ebay Watchers - impressive)

The watchers are probably timber owners hoping their game is worth more than they thought. 😀

I hear ya gleek, it's just listed, obo. If I needed the $ or 'wanted' to sell it I'd auction it.

Cant say this doesnt work. Ive sold a few pairs of hard to find pretty expensive Jordans for double the market value by listing it like this.

Hoping for a come up Dylan

This makes me wonder if I where to ever sell my R-Type II how would I even price it? In one hand I know the KLOV guys expect to pay between $200 to $500 for working cabs. I have one of two R-Type II's in known existence to be mint collector quality and based in the original R-Type cab (well, the other one is a repro cab, mine is a restored original). I have around $2700 into it when it was all said and done but that includes a few tools I had to buy for the project I didn't already have (router & heat gun) and includes the price of wasted paint I wasn't happy with the end result and paid extra for laminate on top of the cost of paint not to mention a PCB that died and had to be replaced and even replaced the entire monitor for one that had no burn and is bright and sharp and those original Nintendo buttons sure aren't cheap.

But needless to say, the cab has me in the hole $2700 from start to finish and if I where to sell it, wouldn't it be fair to charge extra for profit and the labor of doing that three month rigorous restore not to mention its rarity? I would probably get burned at the stake on here if I even tried to just get $2000 and that would put me negative $700 and nothing for my time doing the restore work. So in a way if I where to ever sell it, I would probably just throw it up on ebay for a crazy price and not give a shit if it sold or not and just kick back and enjoy the posts here griping about my outrageous price. ;)

But to be honest with you, the plan from the beginning was to restore this cab for myself and to do my personal best that I could possibly do and not pay any attention to budgets and price constraints or worry about resale value. This was a no budget restore and conversion for myself and whatever I had to do to make it come out right I was willing to except that nobody would ever pay what I had into it and I was keeping this thing for life. But you do have to admit, you guys might not ever see another R-Type II like mine and Fizgigs ever in your lifetime. They're the only two in known existence, am I right? And good luck ever getting a chance to play either of the two, hehe. I actually did think about bringing it to a game show since it would be a rare sight but too much pain in the ass to move up and down stairs and I don't want to scratch it up, lol. ;)

He's not trying to sell it to you.

No, thegleek is a potential 'client'. We just haven't settled on a final price yet. :)

this is kinda true ^ if i had more disposable income. if i won the lottery, if my job gave me a nice lumpy bonus, then i wouldnt blink at a 2-3k price tag! :)

now S&H, that's an entirely different story!
