After a good bit of money and a lot of time, I almost have my OutRun
in tip-top shape. I've fixed the monitor, replaced the boards, fixed
the marquee light, and gotten the "shaker" motor to operate, but one
more problem has surfaced. While trying to figure out why the game
wouldn't steer in any direction, I discovered this:

The damn gear on the steering wheel shaft is broken! Arghhhh....
Does anybody have a clue as to where I can find a replacement?

I had one break too. I had to order mine through a distributor, only place I found to have them still.. Cost like $20 each. I bought mine about a yearago so I think you could still find one. I might even have an extra one around but don't get your hopes up on that!!

Well, it looks like there's a place to get that part. WooHoo!

I received this in my mail today:

Joey,

I saw your post in rgvac about the broken gear. That is Sega P/N KR-1127N
Outrun Steering - Gear B. I have them in stock, $35.00 each + S/H. If you
want to order one include your name and shipping address (no PO Boxes) in
your reply.

Thanks,
Alan
