My old Choplifter has been defaced!!

Mine:

Hi - saw your listing. You might not know this, but your Street Fighter used to be a Choplifter; you can still see the artwork underneath on the CP. One of the best games ever, and very valuable when it was complete. It was common for operators to convert older games in the early 90s to Street Fighter, so some moron must've done it back then.

The cabinet would make kind of a cool conversation piece, though. I'll give you $100 and you can keep all of the Street Fighter garbage in that cab. Deal?

(Didn't send it, though.) ;)

i love how you worded this, man, send it!

shame about that 'lifter, dude. he butchered a nice machine.

just sent him this...
"Hello, just inquiring about the Street Fighter game. Looking at the pictures it seems to be an ORIGINAL Choplifter cab!!! Is that what it is??!!
I am currently wanting to restore a Choplifter. Since Street Fighter is so common and definitely not a collector piece, would you be willing to sell just the cab?? I would give you $250 for the cab alone, but do not at all want the SF junk. Would you do that?? Street Fighters usually sell around $100 and are most often parted out and turned into another machine. Let me know if the cab IS a Choplifter and if so, would you sell it?
Anxious to get my collectable Choplifter started!
Timmy"

!@#$%^&*( I would've paid $200 just for you to hold onto that for when I made a trip down that way. I paid $250 for a carcas running choplifter, just because I wanted to play the game so bad. What's your high score?

Nobody wanted mine. I probably posted it here about 5 times.. I finally gave it away to my best friends son for his birthday because I just couldn't turn it into a multi-game.

my sentimental side probably cost me 300 in profit and the 200 I put into it when I bought it.

Here was his reply back to my email: LOL!!!!
"Yes it is. It is still available I actually still have the choplifter pcb, flight stick, and marquee for that as well. I can sell the whole choplifter set for $450. I can install all this over the weekend if you're interested. Let me know ."
I am just stiring the pot.

Ask him about the Control Panel "holes" from Street Fighter II...

:001_scool:

A similar thing happened to me once-

I had an old Exidy Circus that I finally got going- it just needed a new pot for the control.

no interest

I finally sold it for < $100 and the guy gutted it.

You should reply with something like "sorry, I can't afford that. I saw one go for $250 recently, and tried to contact the guy, but he had sold it already... his name was (insert doodlesdaddy's real name here). Maybe you saw it?"

LOL! He has sent me 3 emails stating that we can "work out a deal".
Ah, I have stirred the pot long enough.
I guess I am just upset cus I would have bought it for $250 and left it the way it was.

You kinda jacked the price up with this "cabinet alone" wording. This is potentially going to get a bit more weird and frustrating for the OP. :(

btw...the cl list is gone. Anyone have pics?

You know the funny thing is, when I had it it was a conversion from a Mach 3. I fixed it up nice, but the control panel did have the old Mach 3 button holes. Now it has like 8 more holes in it!! The contol panel has got to be swiss cheese. If he had made a new control panel, he wouldnt have put the Choplifter CPO on, so its the original one, got to have a ton of holes in it
