My Ninty bulb source - good pricing, free shipping with this code

I know a lot of you put Wal-Mart specials in your Ninty cabs but I refuse. :)

I have been buying bulbs here and the pricing is pretty good. I just ordered 20 bulbs and 15 starters. I should be good for awhile and thought it was safe to share! :) Bookmark this!

Go here: http://www.topbulb.com/

Then type in the following part numbers.

Here is the fluorescent bulb ($1.75):

F10T8/CW

NOTE: The above bulb also works in SEGA 80s cabs. It was the same bulb in my Turbo.

Here is the starter ($3.75):

FG-7E

Here is a "priority code" for free shipping. Expires June 30.

74AH

Just finished a DK restore and used my last bulb and starter. It was time for a reorder! :)

I know this is a dumb question, but I don't have a Nintendo cab. What's different about the bulbs and starters? The bulbs you're buying are really cheap, although the starters seem high. You can usually get several different starter varieties at Lowes @ 2 for $2.

Thanks for the heads up John! BTW, the price for the starter is now $3.99. I have needed a set of these for a long time, but I always stopped the order when I saw the shipping price. The DK will soon light up for the first time. :)

These are odd Japanese sizes for 100V lamps.

Also, Bulbtronics has the starters for less:

But, their bulb prices are crazy. Like $9.00.

Oh, I ordered more than 10 so it was $3.75.

Here's the deal. The bulb is the wrong bulb... but I use it too and it works fine.

It's made for a 120v fixture, and everybody knows the Nintendo stuff is 100v... so if you get the actual, correct bulb, it's designed for the 100v fixture, and is pretty expensive. If you use the 120v bulb, people have warned that it won't last as long, etc. but I've used them for years and they work great.

If you ever pull an original nintendo bulb, you'll see it's not a F10T8. As far as I'm concerned though, these are the way to go!

Yes, I actually figured that out as well. Bulbtronics has the correct bulb that I always find in the cabinets (99FL10). But, it's $8.00. So, screw that. They both have nearly the same specs at 10W and being a T8. I have bought some of the 99F10's and they are a better fit. Other than that, I see no difference in life or illumination.

Here is the 99FL10

And I already posted a link to that cheaper starter! :)

Thought I would update this thread with the CURRENT free shipping code:

Go here: http://www.topbulb.com/

Then type in the following part numbers.

Here is the fluorescent bulb ($1.49):

F10T8/CW

NOTE: The above bulb also works in SEGA 80s cabs. It was the same bulb in my Turbo.

Here is the starter ($3.59):

FG-7E

USE THIS PRIORITY CODE FOR FREE SHIPPING ON YOUR ORDER (Any dollar amount!):

Priority Code 66AB

Maybe we can get together some other part numbers and make a light bulb thread or something and keep updating the free shipping code. You know, standard part number for Midway cabs, Atari cabs, Black Light bulbs for Tron, etc.

Could be useful!

Thanks again! Mine burned out a while back, and I haven't replaced it yet. I ordered a couple extra this time. :)

My Mario Bros came with a couple of 40W incandecents in it, so it now has the Walmart special.

My DKjr has the original housing and burnt out bulbs.

For you guys running these bulbs from topbulb:
Have you noticed any difference in illumination? This bulb is 10W and the original is 13W.
Does the starter bulb go out more or less often than the T8?

There is no difference in Illumination. I have been using them for a few years. No issues.
