I noticed all my Nintendo cabs have a light hum coming from the speaker, but one has it louder than the rest (to the point that it is annoying) When I turn down the speaker volume on the monitor, it goes away, but if I turn the volume up (even the slightest amount) the loud hum comes right back. Any advise on where to begin trouble shooting this?

It hums because it doesn't know the words.

But seriously, recap the sound board and it should help a lot - but the "Nintendo Hum" is pretty common, and you probably won't completely eliminate it.

I was hoping it wasn't that. I'll give it a shot, I've watched a few videos on how to do it, it doesn't look too hard, just time consuming and tedious. so, therealbobroberts.net? and get this: 20EZ 13"/19" - Deluxe Kit [Plus & Audio Bd Kit]?

If the monitor works really well, and just has audio hum, you can recap just the sound board. It's super easy to remove by itself - you won't have to take the whole chassis out.

Just be sure you don't reverse the connectors JC and JB on the audio board when you reinstall it, otherwise you'll blow up the audio section of the game board...

I believe that the only way to completely rid yourself of the hum is to move the audio PCB off the monitor chassis. (I just don't know how plausible that is or whether a third party audio amp is needed).

yeah, I read about that, I'll prob r/r one at a time for the first few I do, just to play it safe.

The sound board is small and only takes a few minutes to do. No need to take a weekend off work. Luis
