Got these from someone moving out of state. The Arkanoid is in good shape (just a bad camera glare). Only things wrong with them -- Assault: left stick is loose, but still works. Will have to find out how to tighten it up; and Arkanoid: R.O.D.: The monitor has a constant wave throughout. I've tried to fix it so far, but no luck on the minor adjustments I already tried. It looks to be something a little more complicated.

nice couple of games. i love Assault and keep missing them when they come up at a cheap or reasonable price locally. and as much crap as Arkanoid takes, it's a pretty great game and ROD i think is the best of the series.

Assault is really underrated. I played it back in the day, but I forgot how much fun it really was, and now I'm rediscovering it and loving it. I agree with you-- Arkanoid 2 is really an improvement over the first Arkanoid. I have the cocktail of R.O.D. as well but I might sell it to a friend.

great finds. Assault is a badass game. Nice, tight sticks is an important part of good gameplay on that game. There is a rebuild kit available out there to bring those sticks back to brand new. Love the one in my garage after they were tightened back up.

Very cool! Assault is an amazing game. That is cool that yours still has the original joystick and (most) of the side art!

Yeah, I really don't know why a lot of those machines cut off the side art near the front. Weird to say the least.

And I'd really like to get a link to that "tightening kit" if you come across it again, gozer. Thanks in advance!

PM oregonarcade. He's the one that bought it and gave it to me to install. He'll know where it came from. There is a good website with rebuild instructions for the sticks here:
http://www.habosarcade.com/Assault.htm

All is pretty easy if you have the right tools. Removing the sticks from the panel was impossible for me without the aid of a nice, long hexnut screwdriver. I also don't have a vise, and I totally recommend you get one if you don't have it.
