Heading out to the garage right now to scrub her down!
And after that maybe you can get some work done on that Donkey Kong machine you just bought! Zing!

DK was the first cab I bought and it got me into this mess.
When side by side there are differences in Mario's fingers and the barrels on the NOS are a bit darker in color than the repro.
The repro art is great though.
Same here.
Playing devil's advocate here, but how do you know the darker color isn't just discoloration from sitting for close to 30 years?
All the barrels on the NOS are the exact same shade and I would think there would be differences in them if it was just discoloration.
The fingers is where I tell the difference. On the repro the nails are rounder and white while on the NOS they are thin and solid black.
Got it.
Man, rounder and whiter nails? I have to tear off this repro junk and find me some NOS side art.![]()
For $70 I couldn't pass on the NOS.
When I eventually repaint the DK I will put the NOS on it.
I restored mine with 'repro' artwork and couldn't really see any difference between it and the original stuff:

Hey phet, whats going on with that coin door? It looks blank, or am I crazy?
What's "too nice" about it? Looks like a standard DK cab in OK shape to me. Bottom has damage at the edges, there's a big white pressure scratch across the other side and the artwork is trashed on that same side. Have you actually seen the screened repro DK art? It looks exactly like the original. These cabs are easy to restore and the screened repro artwork is cheap.
Got it cleaned, and in the house, and I have to say, it cleaned up pretty well!!

very nice. so, did the buttons clean up well? i did some heavy polishing with novus on the ones in my mario bros for the sorta-resto i'm doing right now, and they cleaned up very well. i would personally clean and keep the originals if salvagable. ironically, the mike's arcade set appears to be the right shade of blue, as my original buttons are lighter underneath, but the fading to darker blue looks much better than that middle of the road blue.
Oh man that is nice!
