Well since my other thread was getting mired down in auction talk, I figured I'd start a new one complete with pics. Now, this machine is not 100% perfect by any stretch, the side art has some nicks and scrapes, the bottom has a bit of moisture damage and the coin door is currently stripped bare and was painted right over (yes, even the red reject inserts were painted black). I sanded down most of the moisture damage, masked the side art and rolled 2 coats of Rustoleum semi-gloss black on the sides, front panels and the entire back and roof of the game. Marquee bracket was stripped, primed and painted satin black, marquee, marquee plexi and bezel were all removed, cleaned, polished and replaced. The bottom was sanded clean and I installed new textured black T-molding. I have a complete Coin Controls coin door that I am gonna spruce up and replace the one the game came with and I may fill the lock bar hole at a future date. But for now, she works and she's looking pretty damned good. Don't you agree?

Your purchase made me try out the game. Interesting, and one I've never played before. I like the speech. Glad the game is getting a good home and the Phet restoration treatment. I wish I had your cab talent, they always end up looking A+!

If it makes you feel better, I had to give my Assault a new over/under door too. For some reason it was badly rusted, but the cab had almost no water damage.

I have this officially listed as a B+ on my VAPS entry. But thanks. Like I said, it is not perfect, and at this point I am fine with that. It looks broke in. Once I get a new coindoor put together, it will be very nice. I really like the gameplay on this one. I can see it having years of replay value.

Nice one! That cabinet sure has some colorful artwork.

Heck, from the pics it looks to be in better shape that most of my cabinets - after I restore them! :D

I'll have to check out the game in MAME or something. It definitely looks pretty fun.

Never played it, I'll have to try it in MAME tonight. It looks to be B+ material for sure- nice score! So, where in the blue hell are you going to put that huge thing?

Not to Phet, she didn't...

Why are you so mean to me? What did I ever do to you? Just telling everyone how awesome you are, praising you for your keychains and insight and ability to grow a lumberjack beard and the fact that you are so awesome, and this is how I'm treated? I feel like Fritz's back-up fluffer/shoe-shiner. The hermaphrodite one with the gimp knee and the lazy eye.

I do recall that you posted very nicely in my key chain thread, so how's this:

Hello Phetishboy! Wow- what a great pick up! You are so awesome! I love your restorations! I love what you did with your hair! Can't wait to see where the Pig Out goes in the game room! You are so awesome!

Welcome to the club, phet. FullThrottle and I both own it as well. Seems to be pretty rare, at least in dedicated form. It's got great sounds and art, and as far as continue games go seems to have good game play. I got it mostly for the kids though.

The cool thing is you seem to have the same joysticks as shown in the flyer. FullThrottle's and mine both have bat top sticks. If you ever happen to be able to get some data on those sticks, I'd appreciate it. I'd eventually like to switch to sticks that are as close to those ball tops as possible.

If you happen to care, I modeled pig out in sketchup: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=5ba9c0de1c55561f6f383178a3696f29

I do care and I DID see it. Very nice. They look to be standard 8-way wico micros.

I see there is an AA sized on-board battery. It hasn't leaked yet, but I'd like to remove it before it does. Was that there to save high scores? Will a standard button battery and holder work? If so, what size?

Is there an official manual for this game, like with a color cover? Or is the xeroxed and stapled booklet I found inside the extent of it? Also, While cleaning out the inside, I found 2 'Out of Order/ Service Tech Request' signs from March 15, 1997. For some reason I can't bring myself to throw them away, even though they are just hand done sharpie on paper.
