well, i sold my first wizard of wor, but it was good, because i did it straight across basically for my tron and then flipped the tron to get another tempest, so it worked out in the end.
jonsey was interested in my DK cocktail that i was getting tired of, and he was willing to part with the wizard of wor. so we traded across.
so, i didn't really take resto pics so here's what i did. first, the cabinet front was separating from the sides, and the bottom back piece and top part were as well. so i glued them all together, then countersunk screws on them, 10 down the front side on each side, 5 on the top on each side, 2 in the back top on each side, and then 4 on the bottom of each side. i drilled the holes a little larger so the screws were sunk in 1/2", and then bondoed the holes.
next, i took the marquee/brackets/control panel/coin door/etc off, and sanded the cab down to bare wood. bondoed both sides, rebuilt front corners at the bottom, and painted, four coats of paint.
after that, i repainted the brackets, built a complete coin door (the original was missing 75% of the parts) out of two, and vacuumed out the cab. also threw a new line cord on it, and rebuilt the sound amp board and the power supply. finally, i replaced the 1 player stick cause it was bent slightly, and i put on a new cpo, and painted the control panel. to do that, i masked off the front art and painted the rest.
new side art was included in the trade, so that was put on too. the only thing that sucked about it was that the premask was crazily sticky, and tough to remove.
oh, forgot. i also used krylon triple thick as the bezel is cracking at the top. i will eventually get a better condition bezel, but the present one doesn't look that bad...
