Traded Vectorman my Spiders cabinet for this one...been wanting it for a long time. It's a nice four-slot. Cab is in good condition, and it has part of the Metal Slug 2 stickers still on it. No access to the tubular locks, might have to pick those.

It does have a problem though, which I'll post in the appropriate forum.

Now to fix, then some great NEO action. :)

If you have access to another Neo Geo MVS machine whose owner has the original key, borrow it and try it on your locks. It's kinda wacky, but I have a suspicion that they didn't key very many lock variants with these things. I had an original key that opened both of my MVS machines. Both machines from a completely different source. *shrug*

Worth a try.

Nope, sadly not. I'm going to buy some as soon as I can so I can play it when it's fixed.

I have some dupes of the "common" carts in my collection. I know one of the dupes is either Samurai Showdown or Sam Sho II. I might have another duplicate, but don't remember which one.

Shoot me a PM with your address, I'll ship it/them out to you!

Very nice! I have the same thing; it was my first (and right now, only) cab that I bought from one of the members here. Guys are always selling MVS carts here for good prices. There might even be a sale thread or two going on right now if you check. I have the 100 in 1 multi (I got it with the cabinet); not too bad. Lot of fighting games, but there's also some other good ones on it too. Puzzle games for the wife and other ones I enjoy, such as Baseball Stars and Neo Turf Masters.

Welcome to the Neo Geo family. I'm new too. Feels great to have one huh. lol. I have collected over the last year a Single slot, a Dual Slot, and just received a 4 Slot. Problem now is, I only have 3 games. But it sure is fun taking them and swaping them. lol. Will invest in a multi one soon (income tax return).

One question. How do I lock down the CP? It has latches, but I don't know how to secure them

There should be slots on the metal CP where the latches "hook" into (should be a lip, and a small slotted hole for where each clip attaches). Note where they are, then close the CP. Reach up through the coindoor for the latches (should be one on the right, one on the left). Hook it, then press the latch lever down. It should "snap" into place.

NEO's are great. Don't know if I would need the multi-cart. I like some Metal Slug, Puzzle Bobble and League Bowling. There's a few others but I think I could fill a 6 slot and be fine, maybe even a 4 slot. I would be happy to have a decent conversion cabinet with a single slot a few carts.

Now THIS is what the forums are all about :)

Refreshing to see one collector helping another! No bickering, no expectations. I have recently been helped in the same manner.

What did you send? I don't have any Neo carts, or I would have offered the same.

Gaming karma to you sir!

Chris

Update: Got it working! I had to send the board to Canada to be repaired, and I got it back in the mail today. Been playing Samurai Shodown II and Ninja Combat. :)

Thanks again to EagleTG for providing me with a Samurai Shodown II cartridge, and thanks to DavidG on the Neo-Geo Forums for repair.

Might need a degaussing coil though, part of the monitor is a little purple.

The monitor should be new enough that it has one built in.

Generally when you turn it off for about 15 minutes and turn it back on it should degauss itself.

And congratulations on getting it working. Seems like you had a quick turn around on the board repair.

It's not fixing itself. Will this coil work?

That one is for CRTs less than 19"

Yours should be a 25", and usually a WG K7000

I would check the connections on the chassis to see if your degauss coil is disconnected or anything. If it is a K7000, it should have one built in. They do get disconnected sometimes.
