Well A converted Burgertime mine as well be called a turd this thing was hacked to hell and back. Started its life as a Burgertime then maybe it was a Taito Lunar Rescue then it ended its arcade career as a Konami Super Basketball. The original Burgertime marquee was scraped off then the Lunar Rescue was bolted to that then a Super Basketball sticker marquee was placed over that marquee. I removed the Super basketball Sticker just to find the Lunar Rescue was painted black cleaned that up looked might look ok if I framed it and cleaned it up more. So far it looks like all the parts of the wire harness connector for coin door and a few other odds and ends are still in the cabinet this is good because I have a slightly hacked BT wire harness that might need there connectors. As far as I know the Basketball PCB doesn't work but who really cares anyways. The best news is that the power portion of the wire harness is totally unhacked and still turns the cabinet on and off. The original power brick is in there as well but missing all the fuses. I think I'm going to go down and rip out this hack job Basketball Wire harness and try to install my BT harness. The best part is that the 2 original Pepper buttons are still on the CP at least that saves me a few bucks LOL. The original serial number is in the game as well 02275.

Here's a few pictures:

I have a PCB and wire harness not sure if the PCB is working yet though. Now the guy I bought it from said he got it from a guy who said it worked this guy must have been a real sleaze ball. The guy I bought it from said that it never worked once he got it and I wounder why. SO upon further inspection I find the neck board cracked and hacked out the ass. Plus there is 3 tiny capacitors missing off the neck board hmmm wounder why I couldn't get a picture. So far I fixed all the wire hacks and used shrink tube and it looks much cleaner now. as for the neck boards missing parts as luck would have it I have a spare parts neck board also cracked in half. So now I have to attempt to fix the cracked neck board which shouldn't be to bad I have done this before in my Gyruss and it works great. Oh and I just love the hacked monitor power the guy powered the new power supply right off the monitor power line cut that crap out as well. Now that just about all the cancer is removed I can start the replacement process.

The one out of the BT cabinet is on the left parts board on the right.

Hard to believe that any operator would have converted Burgertime into Lunar Rescue. LR was 3 years old at the time of Burgertime's release, and it wasn't exactly a hit game when it was new in '79.

Kyle

Man I hate to agree with you but that is a freakin turd. You might as well pull everything out of that cabinet and start over.

Still cool you landed one though.

More than likely they didn't want to pay for a piece of plexi to adhere the Super Basketball marquee sticker to, so they just used an old marquee they had lying around. I seriously doubt that cab ever had a Lunar Rescue game in it.

That's what I was thinking I just don't see why it was necessary to scrape off all the paint on the old BT Marquee. I got the neck board totally rebuilt with jumper wires and took the caps off my parts board and installed them. I will hook it up tomorrow cross my fingers and hope it will work. Hopefully I will get the BT wire harness all hooked up as well I'm usually fairly quick with rewiring. At least they left original pieces of wire on like all the molex connectors so it will be the simple process of match up color, strip, twist, solder then shrink wrap all the wires.

that wiring is rough. that's probably the worst hack i've ever seen in my life. you should find out who did that and cut his nuts off so he can't contaminate the rest of the world.

Well I bought the thing from a guy in NJ so who knows LOL. Like I said I cut all that crap out didn't really have time tonight to work on it because my brothers birthday but tomorrow will be all out war on the wiring in that thing. I have the harness just sitting there waiting to be installed. I guess once I get it wired I will totally gut it and scrub it out then put the guts back in. Then It will sit in the garage until spring when I can paint it. I'm already trying desperately to get my Rampage and Defender done before the weather turns so far the rampage is almost done being painted. The defender still has a bunch of prep work before it gets first coat. Really my main goal is to wire up Burgertime and cross my fingers and hope my PCB works if not then it will be troubleshooted over the winter. If it works then I will be playing the crap out of that game.

Sorry missed this yesterday I was trying to wire the game up I paid $56 for it. I'm just having some issues with the power supply seems it keeps overloading when I connect the board I have all the wire colors right eh I'll get to it.

LOL well at least Super Basketball is gutted out of the game now and Burgertime is in it I'm that far now I just need to make it work. So much for having it work for my birthday tomorrow shit hit the fan here I will be lucky if I come out of tomorrow smelling like a rose.

Everyone needs a good BurgerTurd... here's mine. Just got the black paint off the front art this past weekend. It's all jamma-fied inside, so the current plan is to (someday) restore the outside to its former glory, then put a 60-1 in it. One thing it has going for it is that it's got a really nice bright monitor in it. Wish I could say the same for the currently dead Pacman sitting next to it. :(
