woke up early today to find an add on cl for a street fighter 2 50$
kid said he bought it for 250 3 weeks ago it worked and when he got it home it didnt (said screen wouldent stop scrolling up and down (lol thats a super easy fix just adjust the pots)
well i drive about an hour to go see it and shure as crap it is fully working besides the screen sync problem and it only was playing the background music sounds no player fighter sounds

the cab was fubared so i took a chance and offerd him 20$ and he bit( i would have gave him the 50 if he refused )

here she is not to pretty but oh well nothing a littel wood work and paint wont fix

now on to my ?
first it has an electrohome monitor in it the pots on ther monitor are just metal no nob
how do i adjust them is it ok to touch thoes while the monitor is hot

next is street fighter a stereo game is that why i dont get any fighter sounds or could it be a more serious underlying problem

and last
what was the cab originaly looks like it may be an old atari cab (shure is heavy enough to be one )
i can see this side art poking out of the bottom

You need a TV adjustement tool... or use a screwdriver but be careful. (I actually have a set of plastic screw drivers).

lol whats up seems everyone is to busy with the bs going on to help a brother out lol
come on guys lets get back to gaming and talking crap on the pos cabs everone has lol

thanks lol
ps i vote for the cab being a pede
and im about elbow deep in this cab trying to figure out why no sounds any ideas

i can just hear the countdown on the contuine screen when the music fades and only hear one side of the background music is sf a stereo setup and if so what are the oinouts are they in the jamma harness or on the kick harness board

hey for 20 bucks who can complain eh

looks like a centipede cab to me.

Did you get the monitor to sync back up yet?

yes and no
had it all synced up moved it inside and now it off again
the pots seem really touchy its a go7 in it im going to pull the chassis and check fr cold solder points and also clean up the pots as they seem to be a little sticky

still trying to figure out the sound problem tho its weird only hearing half of the background music and the fighter grunts and things are so low you cant her them unless the background music is not playing
im leaning tward the game being stereo and the game has the original pede single 6x9 in it gonna try and track down a manual

what was the first sf2 game this one is world (was hoping for hyper )

yep. that round graphic part you can see at the bottom is the very bottom part of the mushroom on the side art.

now the tough part do i try and rip off that siding and pray the art is salvageable
and restore the pede (got a good double axle in a dynamo that would be perfect for sf2)or just paint the sucker with my free can of gillden cool cobalt and leave it as a sf2

man really why are these atari cabs soooo heavy they dont seem to have any thicker wood or any extra wood in them compared to other cabs and its just press board what did they doo imbed lead into the darn wood jeese this and my pole position are killing me moving them around

I am not familiar with the SF2 PCB but it might have a switch to put it in mono vs stereo.

I really liked SF2 back in the day, I would own one...wouldn't go outta my way much though. Fighting games are fun for a bit but by yourself they are kinda boring

yea i never would have bought this but i could not pass up a cab for 50$ (i pay 50$ for empty gutted cabs from a local arcade dealer for my mame rig builds)and then getting it for 20$ was a no brainer they joys and buttons are worth that if i had to order some from groovy game gear

aslo grabbed a sweet bmx bike from the kid it was sitting on the curb they were throwing it away needs a tube and a seat but otherwise its in great shape im going to give it to one of my friends kids (she is a single mom and doesnt have much money)it even has the 360 rotating front wheel , some really nice brakes and some phatty pegs on the rear
id say it was at least a 500$ bike new

dont even ask about my broken rear door behind the bike ill just say make shure you remove yours off your truck if anyone has one when hauling 3 games with the camper shell on lol

its also the first machine i have dealt with with a electrohome monitor dont really know if i like them that much kinda a pia to adjust the pots and whats with not marking the pots function on the damn chassis i guess mabey at one point in time the was probaly a sticker on the frame but god i hate guessing what pot im turning esp when the pots are not quite right to start with

Get yourself a electrohome service manual. While you're at it, also pick up "Grammar can be fun".:D

So... are you gunna pull off the woodgrain and go back to Centipede?

PS: Electrohome monitors are the bomb-diggity...

at this time im undicided imgoing to mess around and seewhat the problem is with the sound on the sf2 board then see what it will take to get a pede board set and ps

and the big factor will be when i try to remov the wood grain
