I've got a Ms Pacman out at a friends store. Was a trashed cabinet, so over a summer I rebuilt the monitor, fixed the PCB and applied all new side art and control panel. I restored it all the way back to original - leaf switch joystick, atari suitcase power supply, etc, etc.

And then of course I stuck it out in the public where I assume most people don't have the faintest clue. Most kids have never seen one though, so I don't mind the abuse it takes (its been turned on for the large part of 2 years now). Have only had 2 things go wrong -- corrosion built up on one of the leaf switch contacts and for whatever reason, the high score save add-on has failed.

Anyway, I went and cleaned out the quarters today. Came away with over $220 in there -- roughly $20/ month.

Was curious about the type of store and foot traffic?
You've probably made a lot of people happy, even above
the 880 people that dropped a quarter. Very cool to share
your game with the public for such limited financial reward.

Wow! .
Out of curiosity, where did you get the stick with the big red top?

Screen burn? well, lets just say its 'authentic'. The monitor had been left for dead before I restored it and it already had pretty good maze burn on it.

There is an attract mode with it on .25 play so I don't think its gotten much worse.

Not sure where I got the joystick, was one that I've had for a long time. It doesn't match the Ms Pac joysticks that I normally expect -- small red ball with texture and a red shaft. The cabinet itself has a high serial number and came from the factory with stickers instead of paint. The joystick could be original with the cab -- don't really recall.

Its a local, independent game store. Has a lot of traffic from the high school across the street. I'm thinking about rotating in a Track and Field and an Asteroids.

I'm a little worried about the vector monitor -- but then again, that Asteroids sure won't get any play sitting at my house.

Wow! That's great to collect 20/week.

$20 a week would be pretty good.. but he's at $20 per month.

It's cool to see one of these old machines out there doing what it was designed to do. I've considered putting some machines on location but have never pulled the trigger.

Nice work! I love seeing it when others have games out there still working hard. After all, it's what they were designed to do :)

I've had 7 games on location for over two years now, at Paradise Pizzeria in Osceola, WI. Ms Pac-Man is in the group - she pulls in about $20 a month too.

Other earnings:

1. Ms Pac Man: $20 / month
2. Mortal Kombat: $20
3. Metal Slug: $30
4. Centipede: $20
5. Donkey Kong: $25
6. Mario Bros: $10
7. Tetris: $10

All in all, not to bad. Game have been on 24/7 since Labor Day weekend 2010. Repairs since then have included:

1. Flyback on the G07 in the Ms Pac (because I didn't replace it when I capped it in the first place)
2. PCB in the Tetris - later repaired it anyway
3. Optic boards in Centipede
4. Recapped Mortal Kombat monitor
5. Random coin mech jams, etc etc.

Most of the work I do is for free pizza. It's a good gig.

Really cool to see the old girl out there working her stuff and you pulling in some cash. :)

You've got a pretty sweet setup in the pizzeria there too Smalltown. It's a shame more pizzerias can't have sweet arcades like that or maybe I'd go out for pizza more often. :p You don't seem to be doing too badly cash-wise either.
