My Ms. Pac-Man Restoration (WIP)

Got the pink on today. It went on great, no problems getting it to coat well. Had some ugliness when I peeled the stencil off, the right side is especially bad - lots of underspray where the paint got under the stencil. Hope it will cover most of it when the black goes down though. Also had a few spots on the front where the yellow peeled off with the stencil, but I expected that. Shouldn't be a big deal to touch up once everything is done.

Think part of the problem was I put the stencil on two weeks ago, but then wasn't able to paint until today. I should have gone back over the stencil to make sure everything was adhered well. Oh well, knowledge for next time.

Outstanding job so far.. looks great.

I find stenciling agonizing - getting the layers to align properly, making sure it goes on flat with no bubbles and that the previous coat dry enough, not pulling up the stencil with the premask, peeling off the stencil at the right time after painting, so the paint doesn't peel up with it... so stressful. But there's nothing like the satisfaction of peeling off that last stencil layer, stepping back and admiring the finished job.

The black stencils were an absolute nightmare! They didn't wanna stick to the cabinet, kept peeling off when i tried to remove the top masking, and there were a handful of tiny pieces I had to pick out with my xacto. Looking at the original paint job, I may have missed a few pieces still.

All in all, it didn't turn out too bad. There are some areas where I need to go back and touch up by hand, but I'll probably just leave it alone for now. Three months to the day of when I bought this thing, and the stencils are complete.

hmm, is it just me, or are the photos not appearing? I uploaded them to an album and used the hotlinks, but I don't see anything in my posts. I have to go to the album, view the individual picture, and then force a refresh several times before the picture will load. Then if I come back, the images show up. Wondering if it's some weird caching issue on my side, or if others are seeing it too.

I can see the photos. Looks good to me. I'm sure stenciling isn't easy, but hopefully I can get back to mine next spring.
