Ok guys and gals, some of you have already seen this, but for the new blood, I though I'd reintroduce it to the new crowd. I got an MK1 cab that was converted to Tekken 2 here locally. I had been on the look out for a good condition MK1 for a while and when I recognized the cab and saw that it has vinyl covering the sides, I though "oh, man! I hope that side art is good." It certainly was. Anyway, here is the restoration...

Good stuff man. A quick question for you: How did you touch up the front panel? I'm working on restoring my Simpsons (as you know from your comment on my resto thread :)) and I need to touch up the front panel as the last major cosmetic hurdle. Yours looks nice and it looks like you at least touched up some of the front. Thanks!

Well, I sanded it with a palm sander using a very fine grit paper. The exact size escapes me. Then, rattle canned the entire frame with the CP removed of course. It turned out pretty good.

Dude that is sweet. I wouldn't mind picking up a nice MK one of these days. I mostly see them faded to hell so never even bother. I got my MKII and MK3 cabs though. Had a MK4 but sold it to get the MK3, maybe one of these days Ill have all of them side by side.

Thanks. I've been kind of torn between rattle canning the front or trying a foam roller. I don't have a nice HVLP spay gun setup so those are my two options right now. I've used a rattle can for everything else so far and it's turned out alright.

good job. I'm still looking for a nice dedicated MKII.
