I recently picked up a really nice MKII from fellow KLOVer R3LLIK. I saw it when I went to pick up a project Neo 4 slot, along with his original MK, MK4, Killer Instinct 2 and others that he picked up in bulk purchase. He needed some garage space and I wanted a Mortal Kombat. He made me a awsome deal on it complete and working, minus monitor and monitor glass.

So after getting a WG 25" installed, monitor glass cut, new IL Eurosticks, all new button micros, a marquee light balast and starter and a new PCB battery it is good to go. It was in use up until 2006 according to the tax stickers, but only has 67K credits on it. It has matching serial numbers on the CP, front of cab., inside of cab., PCB, sound board and coin door.... pretty cool. I left the tax stickers and plexi cover on since they are kinda part of it's originality IMO, and they are from a city near where I live, Houston.

The cab is in amazing shape. The artwork is perfect with the exception of the common fading of the MKII logo on the tops of the sides. No coin door bar holes thank goodness! Some jerk scratched his name DEEP into the CPO plexi, so I just removed it. The CPO underneath was mint and for my home use, I have no need for a plexi overlay.

Awesome! I know I said something very similar for Yodainmn's MK2 thread, but this cab is one of my all time favorite cabs let alone just for the MK series. I even went so far as to buy and frame up the conversion kit side art but it's not quite the same as seeing full art on the original machine. When I found my MK2 cab, I had to de-convert it back from a UMK3, but the first night I got it I immediately swapped in the MK2 boards and marquee I already had and played away.

Told you this thing was in better shape than the MK I kept. I was sad to see it go but at least I know it went to a good place. Count you forgot to mention the matching serial sticker on the switching power supply! It's crazy how many serial number stickers were on and in this cab. I'm really surprised in what great shape the sideart is in. A lot of the cabs they still operate aren't even in as great of shape.

I actually have another MK2 cab, only thing is that it's been painted black and has been converted to WCB. I might strip the paint off the sides so that the artwork is visible or convert it back and install WCB in a more generic cab. Too many other projects atm though. I have to get the non-working ones going before taking apart working cabs to convert back to what they were originally.

Very nice pickup! Great looking cab, too. My MK2 machine gets the most work out of my MK 1-4 collection and by far is my favorite as far as the cab art goes.

AMEN to that! Wanna sell the control panel on your MK2? ;)
