now I'm well aware of the concept of wood swelling and contracting and whatever, but this is ridiculous..

I had to pull the chassis from my MK2 last week to drop in another game (my K7191 thread in the monitor section particularly) and I left the back door off it cause our big game room is closed during the week. then I had to pull the K7000 tube altogether and dropped my U5000 in it a couple days later. I had a WTF!? moment when the back door didn't fit anymore. it's like the opening shrunk somehow.

I pulled a back door off another one of my Midway cabs and it didn't fit either. soooooooo................. what do I do about this? I had the A/C turned up pretty high cause it's been unusually hot lately, did that contribute to this?

Try letting it warm up maybe it will expand again. If not trim the old door or make a new one.

how long should I let it warm up before there's any change?

I'm half tempted to just turn the heat on in there for a little while. what doesn't make sense is I've never felt that door be real tight any other time I took it off. how does that work?

well not like anyone probably cares, but just for fun I went to check to see if the back door would close tonight and... it did.

probably not coincidentally, the metal doors to the building are also no longer slightly off-track... meaning I don't have to wiggle the door back and forth to lock/unlock it anymore. yep, spring is here! :D
