Was working on a tube swap late last night.......connected the k4900 series chassis and forgot to screw it in....and that's all she wrote.....I'm screwed...no pun intended.

The chassis moved as I applied power to the monitor and saw a flash of lighting underneath. The left side of the chassis touched metal, and of course the monitor doesn't turn on anymore. I said enough...and went to bed. I have not had a chance to look at the fuse (it's covered, so I have to remove it first).

Am I lucky enough that only the fuse blew? Just wondering if anyone has had this experience...

Thanks

Had the same experience. The only things that were hurt were the fuse and the IC. ... I probably lucked out though.
