A fellow KLOV'r asked me to post pics of some of the items I purchased at the MGC. There was a treasure trove of original Midway and Williams drawings and parts folders available for purchase and while I wish it could have all gone straight to a museum for preservation, or that I could have purchased more, I was happy with the few things I picked up.

1.) Original Hand Drawn (Pencil) Discs of Tron upright cabinet drawing - dated 7-7-83 with 9 revisions noted dating from 7-9-83 to 9-19-83. Has several cool notes regarding cabinet design and materials, as well as all necessary measurements. Unfortunately all I could find there was this side view, would be cool to find the front and back views.

2.) Original films for producing various Williams pcbs, including REV A., B. and C. of the Robotron/Joust CPU pcb, Williams Linear power supply, Sinistar joystick pcb, Turkey Shoot pcb's, and a few others I haven't looked up yet.

3. ) Original Hand Drawn Robotron Cabaret cabinet drawings (not pictured due to size) - I think this is a complete set (front, side, back, vault). Would have been even cooler to find the upright cabinet, but I was happy to find a set of original Robotron plans. I had to decide between this and the Bubbles upright plans, but since Robotron is the greatest arcade ever made (there it's settled) I had to go with this.

Wow, that's some great stuff! I am totally jealous, wish i knew someone was selling the drawings, I would have tried my best to keep them together. Any idea where they came from?

Are the Robotron drawings labeled "Robotron" or "2084"? 2084 started out as a mini, so that would be a pretty cool find.

what are your plans with these? (of course scanning and sharing would be preferred:)
or reproducing?
nice scores!

If anyone is looking for something along this line, send me a email and i can see what is available for the game you choose. As for reproducing this stuff. I personally think that would be a stupid idea. This is one of a kind items and although ne person would own the actual original. It takes away from the luster that you have the only one of this item.

There is still some ofthe williams stuff left, and there is alot of the bally/midway games still available.

Just know that this stuff is not "cheap" i dont want to say what any specific person spent on this stuff, but just for a point of reference, since if you zoom in you can tell, but the upright DOT cabinet drawing was 60.00 for the one sheet. there are some for as low as 20.00 and others are in the hundreds. Also, we have file folders for games, ranging from 1/2 inch to 6 inches that includes various information such as build sheets, bill of materials, some internal notes and such

I beg to differ. :D That is awesome!

Does it say anything about production numbers / serial #s? for the cabarets? I'm guessing not...

i'm with pookdolie, the robotron cabaret plans sound sweet!

i could see lots of different things to do with this stuff, and it would mostly depend on what the owner wanted to get out of owning it...

i agree about the one-of-a-kind aspect, but some people might not care... you may want to reproduce the plans, or reproduce the parts documented in the plans (eg: using original atari slides for silkscreened repros, the same thing for pcb's or cabinets!)

that was my reason for asking... you never know

(personally i'd love some of those cabinet plans mounted on the wall, blueprints can be cool artwork, or the robotron cabaret plans to make myself a cabinet! to williams spec!)
