This is the thread that i am going to use to let everyone see the progress i make with my MAME machine. First off, don't worry anyone, no classics were harmed in the making of this machine. I am using an old cabinet, but it was empty and there was no indentifying information on it. So i dont even know what it may have been. So, with an empty cabinet and spare computer laying around, I figured that i would make a MAME machine. I dont have much done yet. So far i have the buttons that i am going to use, the control interface, and the computer is just about ready. I am using the Maximus Arcade software and have selected the Maximus Acidus theme which can be seen here:

That said, i am going to design a green type of theme for the artwork on the cabinet. Attached is a rough sketch of my favorite idea that i had. Let me know what you guys think. I feel like it still needs something more but i am not sure what. Maybe some sort of video game element, but i dont want to get to game specific or anything since this is a MAME cabinet. Oh and it will look much nicer when done by hand on the cabinet, this was just a rough sketch in GIMP.

i'll just give you my feedback on here instead of email, lol. What it needs is a logo or a word. What if you put the ranthive logo on? I think that would be sweet!

So this project is complete. It turned out pretty good if I don't say so myself. It is actually a cabinet with a PC inside running Maximus Arcade software and all the games and emulators, I made a custom 2P control board for it too. If anyone is interested in pics or how I did it let me know.

KLOV is mostly for dedicated cabs, BYOAC is more for MAME builds. I think you should make a project thread for your MAME project over at BYOAC. I'd like to see it.

since this thread is already here how about some pictures of your finished project.

why not a "straight six" SF layout , or the cooky slightly curved 6 button layout?

Not a big street fighter fan? I would have at leats done the neogeo layout with 2 buttons on top but Im a huge Samurai Shodown fan.

Looks like a solid build though

Thanks a lot guys. Yeah it was my first build and I just kind of works off of the top of my head. The control panel is a layout I made up actually. I didn't try to mimic anything
