My love for Mr Clean Magic Erasers

Has anyone tried these eBay versions? I wondered if they are really the same. I could see Mr. Clean adding some detergent or something that could make them perform differently????

Good question - I've not tried the eBay versions, but I'd also like to know the same thing...

Read this (as linked to above) http://www.plasticsportal.net/wa/pl...mon/upload/foams/basotect_consumer_eraser.pdf

There's just the material and some water. Nothing else. If Audiomidiman can send an original Magic Eraser we can compare them to the Korean (e-bay) one's because I ordered a box of that stuff...

I also ordered a Korean box full this morning so I'll report back once they arrive.

But, I've noticed the no-name brands of these work just as good as the originals except they seem to break apart a little quicker.

Box from Korea received today (Very quick) !

The original Magic Eraser from the US is on it's way too...

Haven't had a chance to do testing with the Korean stuff, will be tomorrow....

Did some first testing and well....they indeed work great. I'll put up some pics later but I did some CPO cleaning and side-art cleaning and indeed it works great.

However, the sponges (the Korean one's I have now) last very short.
The crumble quickly, depending on the surface. They crumble quicker on CPO (due to the structure) then on smooth side-art vinyl.

I'd say you'll need at least 4/5 sponges to do a cab.

guess that's why they are so cheap! i H-A-T-E those sleazy inexpensive asian products, but fortunately i've learned my lesson: don't by cheap crap, stick to the original, although it's more expensive. AND: do something for your country's economy (BASF = German ;))!

My wife bought me 1-2 boxes of no-name brand Magic Erasers and they works Ok... But yes, they do crumble. Do a little bit of match because even going through 2-3 asian sponges over 1 Mr. Clean sponge you might still be ahead!

Just remember, you don't need to scrub very hard(which will help make the sponges last). I have a method that I do when I clean CPO where I just get the sponge wet... ring it out but leave it pretty moist... go over the CPO lightly and get it "wet"... let it sit for a minute or two and then I repeat the above. After this I use a clean paper towel and wipe the moisture(and dirt) up.

I'll repeat this until I get the whole thing clean.

You should only go through a half a sponge at most doing it that way. :)

mr clean magic erasers rule!
great for removing ball swirls from pinball playfields!

OMG , I just thought about my white Galaxian joystick ball that I NEVER got 100% clean...gonna try it now !

In the mean time here are some of my results:

I bought a 60 pack from Korea off ebay. Got them in mail today and boy are they small. Ill do Jeff's recommendation once i use them though.

True, I received AudioMidiMan's original the other day and it's about twice the size of the Korean one's. However, I'm not sure if that's a bad thing. Smaller = more surface.

Didn't test the original one yet.

Small is not a bad thing at all. I always cut the Mr Clean ones up into several pieces when I use them.
