Temporary OT but anyone know if there was a legal battle over rights to the game by Exidy "Circus" after Bally released "Clowns"? The gameplay looks pretty damn identical.

Both Exidy and Bally cabinets are unique in their own way but thought I'd throw that out there since multiple people have an attraction to Clowns.

I only played Exidy Circus BITD, had one several years ago too. Never saw Clowns on location.

Awesome! Nice to see Clowns machines that haven't been converted into a Nintendo Entertainment System / arcade cabinet monster...

That the guy from Olean?

I worked out a deal for the clowns and a couple Ms.Pacs and a Asteroids about 6 months ago.

Rented a trailer..was set to go...he sold the Ms.pacs and Asteroids out from under me but I could still have the clowns if I wanted them.

He only wanted $100 for the pair of clowns..told him he could keep'em out of spite

Lookin' good Casey! :beerchug: Be sure to take care of those Clowns... especially the one you don't want. :D

Nice load of games
I even saw a galaga cocktail.

Galaga 3. In like frigging mint condition.

Jeff F gets the one that fell off onto the highway!

Yes that's the guy. The guy who is selling them is the son of the op that had them on route. The guy I met was someone that worked for the op fpr years, he was really nice and had cool stories about having games on route like how every place they left the Track and Field, they would get calls to come get it right away because kids acted too nuts from playing it, getting in fights and stuff.

You said he sold Asteroids and Ms Pac out from under you but he had both. Asteroids was dead, Ms Pac was a nutty conversion with some knd of blue V painted on the front of a pacman cab? Or were they better machines?

Nice haul man...

cheers
/Tim

Thanks :) I think I did ok for my first time in a warehouse type situation. I've had 3 such local situations never work out, it took a 3 hour trip to have it work I guess. The truck was fucking packed. I almost got another cocktail, I was trying to figure out if it'd fit in the cab :)

Also: forklifts are great for loading games.

The MS.Pacs were cocktails..after we made a deal he listed them on ebay for $50 more than 'my' price and they sold

The Asteroids was a real nice machine with almost perfect art and CP. I know he did have a couple of them

We made a deal on a Wednesday night for the 5 games...he was going to be in town Friday from FL and I was picking them up Saturday. I picked up the trailer from Uhaul on the way home from work friday..later that night he called say only the clowns were available. I found the Ms.Pacs listed on ebay sold BIN

Guy still calls me every day..no idea why

The clowns have been on CL off and on for a couple years

Galaga 3. In like frigging mint condition.

Update: Clowns and Crater Raider are working. Clowns worked at the warehouse, but some stuff came loose and later the power supply was acting strange but I had an extra (kind of) Crater Raider played blind, the G07 needs a new flyback but I stuck my junk NBA Jam's monitor in it for the time being. Glaga 3 cocktail works, worked at the place. It's really nice and might be for sale (Jeff F should take it but he's a bum). Pole Position has horizontal collapse and the board has battery acid damage :/

Crater Raider is a really cool game, it uses a bent plexi-mirror to make the screen look really wide. It has really neat stereo sound. Gameplay is fun too :)

Clowns is fun but the P1 on the right, P2 on the left, seems to mess up people. I watched two people start games, spin the wrong controller, and then walk away today (at the NW show).
