I dont leave them on all the time because they are really bright... But when someone new comes by to see my games I cant hardly resist. HAHA!!!

Who doesn't like extra lights?
But yeah that's like 50,000 lumens in your face, there.

I installed lamps in my start buttons and wired
it to the unused -5VDC tap. Always bugged me
that they skipped over that.

Maybe you can put different bulbs in those beacons.
Tone it down a notch.

I agree with you 100%. Those are halogen bulbs. Im not sure they make anything compatible as they are suppose to get your attention. LOL Interesting you should mention your START buttons and adding lamps. Mine actually have the lamps installed but no wiring to activate them. I have been thinking about getting them working myself. Does it matter what lamps are used. 5v or 12v or is 12v a bit much?

I advise using #555 lamp (6.3v) and wiring only to the -5, mainly because its otherwise unused on that game and a shorted socket won't toss a spike or flash drop at your PCB. In most machines that come with any button lamps, you'll see them connect to 12vdc but that's also the audio amplifier line. You never ever want to draw off the +5 line for lamps.

That's awesome, I might have to do that to my Police 911

I live in the hood, it spooks the neighbors already when I play with the garage door up but it does look cool in a dark garage.

Is that the "Dukes of Hazzard" light setup that was on CL a while back? I was so tempted cause it seems awesome but I'm going for the dark mellow arcade feel so I decided to pass.

HA! No... I got this at a local flea market for $35 and it works perfectly.

My Taito Chase HQ already has them built in :D Does it in attract + when actually chasing a car (which is the coolest thing ever), uses standard 60 watt bulbs but stuck 100 watt bulbs in there to be extra cool. To be honest it doesn't make much of a difference due to the short bursts I guess :p

Put an LED bulb in for the center marquee since it's always on (HOT), but love the fade in and out of the incandescent bulbs to do any switch of the police lights, unneeded anyways. They (mostly the extra electronics inside the bulbs) might not even like the constant strobing!
