My latest project

Marquee....

Well, I needed a marquee and again I went to the net looking for graphics, but I couldnt find any worth a damn.

I knew my kid had a supercool Buzz Lightyear toy in a spaceship box, so I decided to use something from that....

I scanned it into my flatbed scanner and after messing around with it for a while I got a decent enough marquee together....

Finally...

After I printed that out and cut the plexi to fit, I painted the entire cabinet (except for the kick panel) a nice gloss black.

I used the 3M spray adhesive to get the large side Buzz's on, and put it all together for final assembly.

Since I replaced the original controls with arcade controls, it can take much more punishment than the stock game does. Plus it plays great!

I finally found an AC adapter of the right voltage, and I spliced that in to the original Jakks system, and then plugged the whole thing into a power strip, so that the power strip switch could be used to turn it on and off.

On B-Day, I unveiled it to my kid and he was very happy, to say the least! It still sits in the basement, and when kids come over it's the first thing they want to play with. Parents are amazed that I built it from scratch, and a few have mentioned they wanted one for their kids!

Awesome! I love the projects for kids. This reminds me of my son and I building his Dinocade together. Good times.

I love the marquee on that Dinocade, good job!
Does it just play the one game or is it a Mame?
