I had wanted a Tron machine for a while, but I was going to wait until the prices returned to a reasonable level, but this one popped up on CL, so I had to jump on it. The seller was asking $400, and had a ton of interest. For some reason he lowered it to $350. I'm ecstatic.

The game plays flawlessly, including a 6 hour mini marathon that I put it through last night at my super bowl party. Monitor needs capping and the light above the monitor only works 50% of the time (not the marquee, I already fixed that. New starter ftw). It has a brand new CPO, joystick, spinner, and marquee. The side art is a little scratched up, but I spent a few hours touching it up, and it looks 10x better now. There is a bit of damage at the back, and it is missing the lower back cover. Overall it's not a museum piece, but it's in awesome condition for what I will be using it for. I'll post up some pics of it in my game room tonight, including my touch ups to the cab (the pics below are from the seller).

Wow, $350 and new CPO and joystick... that's odd that someone would know enough to find/replace those, yet not ask a whole lot for the machine.

Nice score

The story I got was the seller bought it in that condition along with ~30 other games because him and a friend were going to open a arcade/bar. The friend fell through though. He had a nice Asteroids and Zaxxon too, but I was stretching my luck/budget with this one.

Nice looking Tron for the price!

Thanks guys, I'm loving the machine. I didn't get around to grabbing photos last night of it in it's current location and condition. Hopefully tonight though. I should have a few hours tonight to enjoy my games since I've got almost 1' of new snow on the ground, and not much else to do :D

Makes me wish I had kept mine. Very nice. Whats up with the right coin slot? It looks pretty f**ked up.

Me thinks some pissed off teenager with a screwdriver. Obviously non productive since the coin box is no where near where he was digging. Anyone know if someone sells replacements?

i'm sure someone local like ray or maybe exidy has a spare coin door. it seems like that slot got drunk on quarters and threw up.

nice pickup on the tron. looks like it doesn't need a ton. you can get the inner cabinet art that's missing for like $45 i think from phoenix arcade. is the i/o tower shroud art scratched? hard to tell from the pic.

I'll try to get some pics tonight, but the tower shroud does have a few scratches in it. Not sure what inner cabinet art you are talking about though?

*edit you can see the scratches I"m talking about in this pic (4x lines going diagonally up to the center):

huh, guess I never noticed. Doesn't that get scratched up pretty bad when removing the CP? I pulled mine after touching up the other scratches and even with me being careful I added a few new marks.

what i do is instead of pulling the cp straight up, pull it up at an angle to one side or the other. the main way the art gets wrecked is by pulling out the shroud. it is tough to remove without scratching the crap out of the inner art.

If I do buy anything cosmetic for it, it would probably be the plastics above and below the CP. Mine aren't broken, just faded. Or is there a way to touch them up (I've got a friend who is a painter and awesome at pin stripes...)?

Speaking of which, shouldn't the lower one be a black light?

i don't know if you can touch them up, you'd need fluorescent paint or whatever. the plastics are expensive around $95 a piece i think at phoenix arcade. the bulb you need, though is a white black light. they're somewhat hard to find locally unlike black light blue bulbs. there's a place on like 29th and sheridan or so that sells those bulbs. their name is bulbs plus - (303) 233-1189.
