I now have a Moon Patrol again, through a very circuitous route. A couple of years ago I bought a Moon Patrol that had severe water damage. It had been in a closed bar for about 20 years. Which would have been fine if the roof hadn't been leaking for the last 10 years or so. The cabinet was so bad, it actually leaned about 20 degrees to the right it was so bad. A friend has recently started getting serious about restoring arcade cabinets as a side business and was looking for a challege....silly rabbit.
It took a couple of weeks, but he returned the Moon Patrol back to me last Sunday.
Here is a picture of KatanaJoe playing a game on it after we pushed into place last Sunday. I didn't know if the electronics worked when Karl took it away as I had never plugged it in. I was going to rebuild the electronics after he finished the woodworking and the stenciling.
Much to my surprise the game not only started right up, but the monitor looks amazingly bright and clear. This after sitting in a closed bar getting rained on for god knows how many years. Freaking awesome.
So, if you are in the Houston area and need somebody to redo a game to make it look like new, I have a guy for you. He was at the Houston Arcade show in November (He had the awesome MS Pacs in the vender room) and he will have a booth at the TPF in March.
