My latest $100 score

I got the pin working this morning. Turned out to be a bad 6821 on the MPU board. Replaced it and the game booted right up. At first I thought there was another problem because I couldnt start a game. It was taking credits but just wouldnt start. Well, my dumb ass was hitting the flippers to start the game and there is a start button on the coin door. The button is kinda hard to see so I dont feel too retarded.
This evening I will be replacing a few light bulbs, fixing a pop bumper and installing new rubber. Its an aggressive pinball and is fun to play. Im definitly looking forward to playing it with some new rubber and a clean playfield.

:D
My wife did the same thing the first time she played one of these old Bally machines. She actually coined up three different machines before someone else told her how to start them (I was too busy playing Family Guy to notice).

That is kind of dumb. ;) Must be your first normal pin. But don't worry, my brother in-law comes over and and never finds the start button. The machine he likes to play doesn't have plastic $.25 windows on the coin door... The guy I got if from stuck black pieces of paper in the holes and he presses those into the machine every damn time. I need to paint it neon orange or something so he can find it... Not to mention getting some of those $.25 inserts.

Congrats on getting this working!

Nice. Can't wait to play it on the 2nd. I think I'll be in Pac heaven then.

So, now the question is what are you doing with your 2nd one?

Great score for that price! I don't think I have ever played that pin before. You are building one of the most comprehensive pac-man collections I have seen. Can't wait to play this one.

I really enjoy playing mine too...I was lucky to get one that had a cab with little to no fade on it..and the game had some upgrades on the boards that I didn't have to do myself...playfield looked newer other than few spots on matrix board..but thats easy touch up since its gloss black...
Nice job on the find and the fix. Nice to have two of them..you can take the best from both and make one nice one...then maybe part out the other if you have too..

I will be keeping the boards and displays for spares and using the best parts to make my machine nicer. I will probably gut it and keep all the parts as spares for mine. Your welcome to haul the cab away if you wanted it but not sure why you would. I estimated it would cost about 4-500 to buy the missing boards and other parts to get machine #2 working. Thats why its been sitting in my living room dead for 6+ months.

Wick, you should see Ricks (roadrunner000) pac collection. He has everything I do but in better condition and actually has a couple professors in the collection. But yeah its the most complete pac collection I know of other than Ricks. It would be nice to have a dedicated puckman but im not going to worry myself over it.

The pin will be operational for the arcade party! I am going to start shopping out the playfield in the morning and get all that up to snuff. Still got my spare MPU board to get working too. I got all the caps ordered to do a full recap on the boards and other spares such as transistors and scr's in case I need them to fix the pop bumper and lights.

Rick, my machine actually is not faded too bad. It looks worse in the pictures because of the flash but the pinks look fairly good on it. The worst fading is on the sides, the backbox has the least. For $100 I am very satisfied with this machine.

Sell me your extra backglass, please? Mines a wreck from too much triple thick.

Awesome score. I paid $300 for mine and just spent $100 for a rebuilt MPU. Ill eventually get rubbers and wax, but just stoked that it will be going soon.

Now put that thing next to a Ms. Pac-Man :D

Mike,
If you decide to do any touchup let me know..I'm pretty sure I still have the paint codes...I thought I'd have to do major work but never did on mine as it turned out...usually the worst is the pink...I think I have a small can that was customed mixed for touchup on the pink.

Right now my gameroom is games lined up like you'd see in warehouse find..I'm in process or having building plans done for a custom arcade in separate building so I can reclaim my basement..for now games in basement, garage, living room, and my office....when its finally done it will be very cool and I'd be able to display all my games and memorabilia finally at one time..right now I just have them carefully stored in basement as closely as possible without scratching and damaging..I can play most but some are buried..here's a few pictures..including some of my Mr and Mrs Pacman pin...

I will hold the spare backglass for you. Its in alright shape but had a big flake right where the trash can is in the pic. Someone painted the backside and it blends in pretty well. $20 +shipping
I have the spare score glass too in very good shape. Not sure what to ask for that but let me know if your interested in that too.

Rick, the only place I think this needs touch up is the front next to the coin door. The front edges of the backbox were previously touched up and whoever did it matched the paint perfectly. Im going to compare playfields, im thinking my other one might be in a little better shape than this one. I guess I should clean this one up first since its extremely dusty. I will take that paint code, might need it later on.
