Just got home today after a 890 mile round trip to pick up my new machine. A friend bought it new when it first came out and he wasn't using it. PITY!!!!

It's in excellent condition, and will be the centerpiece of my "collection". Pics came out crappy, but it is very nice!! Now the challenge of moving it upstairs with it's siblings!!
I'm only "allowed" 5 pics per thread...bummer...multiple posts coming, sorry

Great Game and story. Thanks for sharing. I hope to have one some day.

Mike Chestnut in TN does a great job on shooter/gun/pinball launcher thingy Nickel plating. PM me if your interested in seeing how my STTNG shooter turned out.

All these posts about IJ are making me want one. How much do these go for usually?

I paid $2,500 for mine, but I believe I got a very good deal on it. My understanding a good IJ is $3,000 to $3,500 for a HUO, but I'm a green pea and can be very wrong...

No kidding! Two folks getting IJs this week, one guy with an "extra" Funhouse...

I'm just so jealous.... I probably won't be in the market for another machine until summer at the earliest.

One can only hope to be as fortunate in finding the good deals. (fingers crossed)

I knew it was worth the long trip to get it for $2,500, but now I'm feeling guilty.

OK, now I'm over it!!!!

Yeah, if that thing is in as good of shape as it should/could be since it is HUO, you stole it. The HUO term gets thrown around and is damn near impossible to prove. Condition is everything, and yours looks to be in really good condition. Plus it's cool that you are friends with the original owner.

I'll give you $3500.00 cash money for it right now! Seriously.

You got an amazing deal on a sweet IJ.

And In-N-Out rocks, but I actually prefer 5 Guys. :D

Yeah... 2500 is an unheard of price....I paid close to 4K for mine and will dump another grand into it for all the plating and another for the playfield clear coat.

Wow, thanks again you guys for the info.
I'm so lame at understanding the whole pinball thing.

It seems to be a three ball game and I can't find an option to make it five ball, for those of you who have one, is there a five ball setting?
It has one glitch and stops by resetting the factory settings, and I can't even figure out how to do that!! Bad green pea...bad...

Anyone know?

Yes there is... It's listed in your manual under Adjustments Menu... A.1 "Balls Per Game"

On p 1-27... I know you have a nice clean manual ;) your gonna have to crack it open :)

If it keeps reseting to factory settings, the batteries/battery holder might be bad. Remove the batteries (inside the backbox), check for corrosion around them (will need to be fixed if there is), reinstall new batteries and set the date/time. Then you can set it up to play 5 ball games.

He had never opened up the back glass before, I asked him about the memory batteries and he knew nothing. They were the originals and that was the very first thing I did when I got home was replace them. No corrosion, and I was a bit surprised at that. I actually want to change to factory settings to reset a glitch in the idol switch, but I can't find it on the menu, it's in the manual, but I must be pushing the wrong buttons. I've always had a technician set my machines up for me. I'm hoping to have him come by this week to make some setting changes and fix that switch.
Meanwhile, it's hard not to play it, because that switch is preventing proper play. It's an easy fix if you know what you're doing, which I do not...but I will take notes.

It's a great first game and you got it for a nice price from a friend. Enjoy your new toy. It's fun learning about pinball. It's hard not buying more.
