I keep a set of those around for troubleshooting vector monitors. Those 5A slow blows can get expensive! Once the monitor is up and running, I put in a normal fuse and put the breakers back in my tool box....

I do something similar but I solder wires to the breakers and put aligator clips on the far side. This allows me to put the breaker where ever I need it keeping me from clumsily breaking something when reaching into chassis such as K7000.

I've got this little tool called a "Fuse Saver". Pulled it from a warehouse a few years back.. Made by Wico it was new in the box, cool tool but it says not to use it on anything more than 50v.. Which kinda sucks as I'd like to use it on k7000 repair :) not like those ever blow fuses.. Ha!

i need to do that. The next time i get an em with gremlins i think i will be doing what you did. I love it man. Simple and inexpensive.
