I know it's probably just me being bummed about it, but for whatever reason, our garcade is reaching a "slow" point right now..

For a while, I'm guessing April through June of this year, my wife was out there playing Asteroids every night, and from around March until June-July, my daughter was asking me every single night when I walked in the door from work if I could power up the garcade. She couldn't wait to run out there and play pinball and Ms. Pac.

But lately noone's been asking, so I haven't been going out and flipping the switch. I know the interest level moves in cycles, but I guess I'm just hitting a low when this point of the cycle comes.

Hopefully it will pick back up again in the Fall!

Anyone else on this same cycle right now?

I know how you feel. Right now I'm fortunate to be on a bit of an upswing with all the positive things going on with the collection, but I've had those times where nothing is getting done or nobody is around that wants to play. Maybe you could do some kind of small repair or preventive maintenance on something? To me that always makes me feel good about the hobby when I take care of some little fixes.

same deal at my house. but interest is always low in the summer, too much other stuff too be doing. Plus in the winter is when i seem to get more new games. Less competition on good deals cause people dont want to battle the weather. new games = renewed interest.

ugh, my lull is at the point im ready to bring everything upstairs and sell it all. ended up breaking a power supply on accident the other night (not a huge deal but the way I reacted you woulda thought the house was burning down) and I just felt like why do i even bother..

You no doubt reacted that way because whenever a game goes down, that always ends up being the one that others want to play at that moment! ie, "hey yellow, what's up with the [game x]??" Sometimes you can't help but wonder if people ask that on purpose just to push the blade in a little further LOL

my garcade is hitting a LULL :(

When sisters Kids come over they used too run into the game room and play in there for along time. Now when they come over they make fun of the games and they are in there for about 5 mins.

My little room suffers a lull pretty much all year round. I hardly ever play the games. I usually turn them on and hit the console systems up. It's really the thought of owning my own games and feeling like your in a real arcade which means more to me than anything. On Halloween though, that's when the games get used the most. :)

Well today after the advice of all, I took some time and did some rearranging of the garcade, and also made a significant step forward on my Evel Knievel pin. I actually pulled it away from the wall where it's been for 2 years, and finally got the head box attached on it! It finally looks like a pin again! And now to figure out what part of my @$$ to pull the funds from to bring her back to life! :( Oh well, there was some progress made..

Get a multi-game or MAME cab. The bitches are tired of the games. They are fickle beasts.

LOL it makes me think of a line in the movie "XXX" with Vin Diesel.. The Russian/German dudes call for the women and they say "BITCHES COME!!!!" :D Cracks me up.

Sometimes you can kick start a revival by just having the attract modes running or grabbing a beer and playing a little game yourself. Maybe bet the wife who will do the dishes on who wins a game or something?? :)

well a lull is putting it mildly, most of what is purchased where i live is only sold because its broken. with no parts local to me everything has to be shipped up here and bought from klov or ebay. All i have are a ton of projects. I spent about 3 hours total playing games in the last 6 months. Kinda sad really!
