My first world record that is actually within my grasp...POLARIS!!!
When I was in Denver at the Rocky Mountain Pinball Showdown & Gameroom Expo, on April 30th, I bought a new arcade game. It was a big coincidence too because I had planned to go to Denver the following week to buy this exact machine. Dan Gutchess (fellow KLOVer and runs classicarcaderesource.com), was at the event selling a couple games at a discounted price. I was stoked since I was going to get it anyways but now I get it at 20% off. The game is Polaris. It's a lot like Space Invaders but you are a submarine instead of a spaceship. Here's a picture of my new toy...
I have been playing this game everyday since I got it. Two days ago, I finally broke 10,000 points. Today, I decided to pull up a barstool and have at it for a while. My best game I managed 22,950 points. I thought that wasn't half bad so I logged onto Twin Galaxies to see what I would need to beat. Apperently there are two high scores listed and both of them were achieved in 1983. #1 is a high score of 38,120 points and #2 is a high score of 25,700 points. I know that if I keep up my progress I can have this game licked by the end of the month. Now I just need a dang video camera and tripod!!!
