My First "Warehouse Raid" Experience...

In a mad scramble to fix my truck for next weekend. :) Hopefully there are some parts/art/boards to pick through when I get there. I'm another JAMMA freak.

So were all the Z-Back-ish cabs just Z-Clones? Nothing wrong with that, I just mis-tagged them on the original thread. :p

Edit: Gumball pinball is awesome.

Prairied: is GT still associated with 1up? I did some freelance articles for them a couple years ago. Before the UGO buy out (noticed your shirt). :)

Dunno, BITD they interviewed me and then gave me a shirt.

I don't think 1UP.com is affiliated with GameTrailers.com. I looked up company info on 1UP.com and they are owned by Hearst Corp. (GT is owned by MTV (Viacom)) and I don't see that they have anything on GT's website.

One more thing, Johnnie, it is mandatory that you start a restore thread on that marble/gumball mini pin. That thing is awesome!

Thanks to Gregatron and ThatGuy for a great sale. And yeah, what he said... Can't wait to see the Super Flipp at CAX! :)

done. Tonight I got it all back together. 100% playable!
I still am trying to figure out how to put a new plunger handle on it and get a new dispenser door assembly into it.

I loaded the same marbles back into it after cleaning all of them and sorting them from severly chipped and oblong marbles.

I'm now researching the best gumballs to use it in. You can adjust how much gum is dropped but not the number of marbles, which is only one. How sad is that. I would imagine at least 2 plays and gum!

Mad props to Paul (didn't get to see) and Greg. I would have waited to BS with you Paul, but I had to try and get back to Concord in a reasonable time. I had a long story, but the short version:

Drove 3 hours one way with a truck I haven't driven in 3 years with my very pregnant wife.

Barely made it before 11am. Warehouse isn't massive, but there was a ton of stuff jammed in there. A lot of 90's stuff. Not good for the old farts, great for me. :) There was a lot of stuff for slightly obscure Capcom/Namco titles (move lists for Project Justice and Dimaho...the only Project Justice arcade I've seen in real life was at Capcom's press booth in 98/99-ish...left them there for someone else to pick up).

Those Z-Clones are definitely strange. I did see one legit Z-Back in the pile though.

Sat in the PP cockpit. Wish I could have dropped the cash and had the space for it.

Massive Race Drivin. I hope someone saves it.

I wish I had taken time to dig through the pile of boards Greg had to swim through, but I was already packed and a little pressed for time. Great deals to be had there.

Thanks again to Paul and Greg for working out the other board deal. I really didn't have room otherwise. :)

Pile my stuff in, make it down the street when my wife says, "Uhm. I think I had a contraction."

"Shit!"

Make it barely three exits down the freeway when...FATALITY! (hard to see, but look at rear wheel)

Nerves are totally screwed from almost getting all three of us killed...still have a delivery problem.

Have wife drink some water and the contraction feeling stops. False alarm. phew! Cook in the sun for 45 minutes until tow truck comes. Towed to Big O. Whatever cash I saved from the awesome Paul/Greg deal gets wiped out in four new tires and a tow. I'm now eating top ramen until Friday.

Get MK2 out and discover this cruel little op joke. Looks like I gotta get the monitor out in order to get the back door open. :p

Quick picture of the boards/art/monitor I picked up

MK2 put to bed for the night

I think I am done doing road trips for video related stuff. Especially cabs and monitors. The deal was awesome, but I am tired of all the extra bad luck that seems to come along for the ride when lugging these things. If I can't pick it up in a car and it isn't a pinball, I think I am going to pass from now on. Plus, the garage is getting junky if you know what I mean. I'm sure I'll feel different in the morning. ;)

If you like 90's stuff, don't pass on getting in contact with greg and paul. Again, mad fucking props to them for putting this together for all of us.

that looks awesome. What a cool place to land.

when I find a warehouse...its really a barn or leaky, stinky, moldy, brick building with a leaky roof.

California ... its like a feild of dreams.

Well at least you all made it home in one piece and that Mortal Kombat looks great. Good thing you got the truck running for that trip.

That Sux dude,
sorry to hear about your bad luck today.
Good to meet you and your wife.
Thanks to both of you for coming down today.
Greg

Taking the preggy wife on a 3 hour road trip is a big fail.
What were you thinking? I'm glad all are OK.

It's the last big outing we had planned before the baby comes, which is due in 3 weeks. We had all the supplies we needed in the truck. We also plotted out every hospital/medical facility along the route...so no. Not fail. The only fail was riding on old tires.

No, thank you. :) Hooked me up with some really good stuff. Let me know in 2 weeks if you still have boards/artwork to get rid of and I'll consider coming back down to take some more of it off your hands (in a car...alone). Thanks again! :)
